Have not been here in a long time, and I am trying to decide if I will go back. I ordered the beef fajita avocado salad off the lunch menu , I did ask the waiter what the difference was before I ordered, and he said nothing except the dinner price is more. So the lunch portion is what I ordered. The salad was very good , with no rusty lettuce , fresh avacado, and good tomatoes . The red cabbage could have been chopped up a little more, but overall, it was a very good salad ( I did ask for a 2nd plate as it was hard to mix it all together in the plate/ bowel it came in. The chips were hot , but so was the salsa , not hot as in spicy, but as in, it was warm .

Food wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t good. When we visited, there were no other people in the restaurant. Red Flag! The appetizer was very good. Mango ceviche. Did need a but of salt. Other than that, it was very tasty and full of lime. The appetizer plates, however, were dirty and still had dried pieces of food on them. Being that we were the only ones in the restaurant, our drink glasses should have been full most of the time. When we needed a refill, we found our waiter starring out of the window. Another staff member graciously stepped up and refilled our drinks. I do not think we will be returning at this time.

Decided to try this place for dinner. It was a Wednesday evening so there weren’t too many people here. Waited too long to order considering there were only 2 or 3 other parties dining in. Let’s start with drinks, I ordered a half unsweet tea, half lemonade to drink and out of the 4 glasses I got, it was only right once. I also asked for a glass of ice water 3 times before I got it. I ordered the mole enchiladas. Chicken was dry and room temperature. Mole was poured over enchiladas instead of tortilla dipped in mole like enchiladas should be made. I also ordered flour tortillas with butter, but they never brought out the butter. Server stayed out of sight. Queso dip was good though…

Delicious food, as usual, but poor kitchen help. They kept messing up the orders no matter how many times the waitress told them what it was suppose to be. There was also fighting and yelling in the kitchen most of the night.

The ground beef chimichanga is delicious! The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. We ordered the chilli con queso with ground beef as an appetizer and it was a huge serving and delicious. The glasses of chardonnay were generous pours and chilled to the perfect temperature. We love this restaurant and highly recommend it for hungry people!

No vegan options! Even staples like rice and beans are meat based. Manager did not seem concerned. Apparently not much demand. Other Mexican restaurants have adjusted rice and beans to be vegan and offer vegetable enchiladas or fajitas. Not at all happy with what they had to offer

We frequent La Playa. Found this gem, after morning to corpus. Always friendly customer service, the food is amazing and hot everytime. My favorite Mexican restaurant hands down. If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor. Thank you for being so consistent.

Me and my children walked in sat down and not 1 person approached us yesterday. How did a couple that came in after us get helped before we did? Me and my kids walked out.. its sad that we still live in a world where our skin color gets u that type of service.. Funny thing is the people that were leaving and so kind to bring me my charger that i forgot even said wow they didnt even offer yall any help. Sad bc this place is really good but they wont get my money

Avoid this place unless you want to wait over 45 minutes for your food. Apparently most of the staff was replaced two weeks ago and thus short staffed. The prices are a little high for the kind of food we received. The food itself was ok nothing special.

After a brief hiatus, Livia is back, tasting all the goodness that Corpus Christi has to offer & critically evaluating any & all food placed in front of her. I don’t know how she has time to evaluate because all she does is literally “inhale” all the food, lol. She had the Marisco soup & tells me it beyond delicious. It was filled to the brim w seafood chunks. I had Tacos al Carbón & they were also delish! My GF had the steamed seafood, which, as you can see in the pic, was well steamed! & Also tasty. You will be very happy (& full)
