This was my favorite creole / oyster spot in town but closed last week. … (kinda understandably) doesn’t give a lot of love to Cedar Park.

Really interesting restaurant. If I could, I would give them 4.5 stars. Appetizers pretty good, $12 for 3 oysters not bad, but if they can switch to bigger oysters that would be great. Boudin Balls are the best appetizer in the menu. It’s flavorful, salt and spices balanced really well. Everyone should try it out. The main courses we had halibut and snapper. Looks nice, but halibut it’s kinda plain. My snapper itself taste great, oysters mushroom with fish it’s great match . It will be nice if green sauce will little bit thicker, asparagus kinda ruined whole dish, it was minty and weird. The best part, it’s dessert. Specially the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, the bread pudding parts really flavorful, when the ice cream with the caramel sauce and pudding melted in your mouth, it’s amazing!

This place is amazing! It’s the type of foodie restaurant that should be in a trendy house in Austin. It’s in a strip center in Cedar Park, but WOW, it is so good! We started with an order of various oysters which were tasty. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the halibut and both were delicious. The bananas foster bread pudding was a perfect way to end the evening. All the food was so flavorful you could savor every bite. We ordered different drinks, but our favorites were Smoke in the Cockpit, Aphrodite and the Gruner wine. The service was great and the restaurant was nice and clean. This place gets busy, so I suggest booking a reservation. I definitely recommend this place and we’ll be back.

Edit: my previous review was for the restaurant that used to exist at this location. The restaurant is now a new restaurant, new concept and new owner. The dishes is perhaps one step up from heb standard sushi with the option for cocktail. The menu is limited and I did not see any option for sashimi. The walls are lined with fake flowers and grass. We stopped by on Friday for dinner and it was empty. We were shown to a table but it was not wiped down. Tempura green beans were cold and had chunks of uncooked flour.

Fabulous dinner with amazing service. Fresh Oysters from Boston, some of the best gumbo I’ve ever had and a main course of shrimp and grits. I was blown away by the sophisticated yet casual presentation and depth of flavors. Chef Nick gives joy upfront with a gentle heat at the end to remind you how good it was when you started. Fun atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff. La Joie has totally nailed fine casual dining.

It’s awesome to have a new fine dining spot that’s not all the way in downtown Austin. Be warned, you’ll also pay downtown prices. Everything was fresh and unique (scratch made) which is a nice change from all the chain restaurants in Cedar Park.

The beginning was looking promising, we got there at 7:40, it took about 20-25 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Its ok; “they are probably backed up.” After the drinks were served appetizers and entrees were ordered right away, we knew what we wanted. For an appetizer we got Halibut & a dozen fresh oysters for entrees we ordered Sea Bass, Shrimp & Grits with extra shrimp for an up-charge, and Arugula Salad. Halibut (fully cooked dish) came before the oysters . 2 tables that arrived after we did, was enjoying their oysters, when asked what was going on with our order- our waitress notified us that our ticket was lost . We got 2 different kinds of oysters- assuming they ran out of blue-points (cuz we ordered 1 dozen blue-points), oysters were small-not their fault. Halibut was overcooked, the vegetables were undercooked and had no seasoning. Sea Bass was good, tender and well seasoned, Shrimp & Grits was ok well seasoned a bit on the spicy side , extra shrimp was forgotten . Arugula salad served on a flat dish, in the middle of the plate was pesto covered by salad, mixing pesto with salad was a task. Ps our entrees were served at 9:05pm, through out the entire time our waitress came to our table 3 times total. Thats including giving us the check, chilling by the bar was more productive for her. Our food was served by hostess and 3 other people. Honestly the worst experience i have ever had. Very disappointed, with service & food, on the way home went through a drive through.

Lovely space. Lots of restaurant industry knowledge here. Incredible potential and putting out very nice plates 2 weeks in. Oysters were as good as any I’ve had in town. Desserts are close, but not quite there yet. It is nicer than you’d assume in the innocuous strip mall location in cedar park, so don’t be afraid to dress up a bit and make a night of it. Fabulous cocktails, Will be back.
