We visited Kopi cafe in Andersonville for brunch after a busy work weekend, I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! As a group with a few vegetarians and vegans, we always look for delicious alternative spots, and Kopi did not disappoint.

I always try to get something different when I come here and always enjoy everything I get. This is one of my go to spots to bring people who are visiting, especially folks with allergies or food restrictions. There’s also lots of interesting things to look at and trinkets to interest folks from out of town. Staff is always welcoming and allow you to take your time.

Wonderful old neighborhood beatnik type place with amazing sandwiches, great desserts, and a beautiful back patio space. The front window is reserved for the folks brave and limber enough to sit on pillows on a raised floor! Great vibes, great food, great service… A must visit when you come to Andersonville!

Loved the vibe of this cafe. Varieties of coffee and teas. Falafel plate was fine. There are soft cushions for floor seating arrangement. The place can be a little clean. There are table and chairs as well. Warm and welcoming service.

First timer here. It was super crowded on a Saturday evening, but the hostess was able to get us a table in like 10 mins. We checked out their small shop area while waiting. As far as food goes, we had the Mexican Latte and Carrot cake. It was so yum. Our server was very friendly as well. We did pay street parking outside.

I don’t think the short hipster guy with the glasses is there anymore because of the help wanted signs. We were greeted by a couple lovely gentlemen and seated in the patio. Food was amazing for the price point. The portions were just right. I do think they tweaked their menu portions. I always go for the carrot cake! I was introduced to this place because my love of carrot cake. It’s the best I’ve had in the city so far; 15 years and counting. I got the trout omelette, carrot cake, and Mexican latte.

Love this place. So many things I want to praise I don’t know where to start. The espresso is fantastic and for the evening many creative drinks as well as good price in wine and fine beers. If you can’t find something that tickles your fancy on the food menu I would be shocked. I’ve been going for years and always great welcoming service as well as interesting varied clientele with whom I’ve had great conversations. Bonus outgrowth from the pandemic is the beautiful back yard space. I could go on but will leave it with, Kopi is an iconic Chicago institution! Oh and don’t forget the boutique in back, amazing!

The atmosphere is crazy nice and it’s a great place to spend some time in. There’s an area with low tables where you can sit on carpet if you’re just there to study/read. The café menu is really great and tastes amazing (highly recommend the turmeric golden latte). Only downside is that they don’t have Wi-Fi and their food menu is a little unfriendly if you’re the kind of person that likes to watch their macros for a lot of protein. The dishes all taste great, it’s just that the menu items are usually pretty carb-heavy. Beyond that, their veggie patties are freezer-bought so if you’re looking for something unique and vegetarian, this isn’t it. HOWEVER it all tastes really good 🙂
