Seems like this place popped up out of nowhere. It’s a bit hidden; you wouldn’t know it was there unless, you DID know it was there. They were open very late on a Monday, which was great! The young lady serving us was so very sweet. The menu was a QR code, which was not ideal (especially when you’re on a date with your husband and it’s a rule that no phones are allowed) The atmosphere felt more like a study hall than a restaurant. The food was great overall. The sign posted outside said it was a “soft opening” with a 20% discount. We didn’t get the discount. Meh.

Great food and service! Super cute decor, they have indoor and outdoor seating. I got the Mexico roll which was the perfect amount of spice that didn’t overwhelm the overall flavor. The sparkling mango drink is to die for!!! And the staff is so friendly. 10/10 recommend.

Saw lots of good reviews and decided to give it a try. Ordered the original fish broth soup with rice noodles. The soup is clear and flavorful. The fish balls and fish cakes are soft and yummy. It also comes with black fungus and bak choy and claim. The seafood broth is good too that it comes with head on shrimp and claim and you can order beef, chicken, tofu or fish as add on. For those who loves fish broth, this is a must try. Will definitely come back and this place doesn’t disappoint.

Nice and cozy space with a cute tiny outdoor seating. Overall we liked the food. We only tried sushi and special rolls. The fish was very fresh and their tuna was so good! I would definitely suggest this place. The only issue is the wait time from when you order the food until it gets ready. Also their sushi menu should be more diverse, and they should add the 2 piece option and the prices of each sushi as well.

My girlfriend and I were invited to try this place out, so it was hard to say no! This place is a very casual sit-down that borders on a cafe more than a restaurant. They even have an outdoor enclosed area on the side of the building if you wanted to eat outside.

I don’t like to post negative reviews, but the food here was really bad – except the salmon hand roll. I had the seafood noodle soup and it was completely tasteless. And they had no togarashi to make it better. We ordered a beef bento box and after waiting 20 minutes (there was literally only 1 other table with people) they told us that they were out of beef!?! It’s a fairly new place, so I hope they work out the kinks.

We went to their new location in Irvine. The atmosphere is really great even though the restaurant is not that big. The food is really good. The sashimi plate is wonderful. We would definitely go more often.

I really like Sheung Shui in Lake Forest, and happy it opened another one in Irvine. Kiwami has good menu varieties. Both Japanese (eg sashimi, donburi) and Chinese (eg. noodles, porridge) dishes are wonderful! Fish/seafood soup is superb! Great seafood quality, very fresh. Fast and good service, friendly staffs, convenient location. Two thumbs up. We’ll definitely coming back for more.
