This small Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem! I’ve eaten here on multiple occasions, and the food has been consistently solid and satisfying. Their chicken tortas and special burritos are especially delicious, with authentic, homemade flavors. The portions are large, prices are very affordable, and the staff is always friendly. If you’re in the area, El Calor Taqueria is highly recommended for a delicious, no-frills Mexican meal.

It’s small. I rated I rated atmosphere lower and it’s not fancy and if you looking for fancy you may walk out but if you walk out you’ll miss great authentic food. I always get the special burrito. Best burrito in town. Best burrito in any town I’ve been, I’ve been in many. I’m sure other things is good but I can’t not have the burrito.

While visiting Salt Lake we Always eat here and the food is great, but this place isn’t for everyone for some they would just walk in then walk right back out because it is crusty and dingy looking it seems kind of dirty but this place has the best chilies rellanos I have ever had that’s why we keep going back . The food here is completely authentic it is food you would find if you went to a restaurant in a small town in Mexico you won’t find Americanized Mexican food here no orange cheese in sight or glamorous cuts of meat or matching table ware what you get here is what you would get in Mexico though pieces of meat braised until tender in fragrant sauces and rendered fat, served with homemade tortillas everything is from scratch they even have aqua frescas . I gave this place a 4 star review because of the establishment appearing unkept and dingy , but the food is real and flavorful if you like greasy spoon hole in the wall secret spots only locals go to then you can appreciate the hard work they put into making there food from scratch . Prices are standard tacos are$ 2.50 and plates are between $ 10-12.

I loved the Gordita Asada. They made the maza right there fresh. It took a few minutes to get but it was so worth the wait.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Utah. My boyfriend and I had tacos (Al Pastor, Carnitas, and chorizo) I would order all three again. Staff was very friendly and kind as well.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. We waited a long time for our food, and it never arrived. Even though the waitress told us it was ready, it was never served. The place was not clean, and the service was very poor. We don’t plan on coming back.

BEST TACOS OF MY LIFE. I have to go there every time I go anywhere near West Valley now that I’ve tried it a couple times. When I ate the tacos in the picture, I kept thinking I had no reason to go to any other restaurant of any kind ever again because no other restaurant could satisfy me. By the next day, I came out of that trance and I remembered my love for all foods, but still will never forget the best restaurant with the best tacos.
For me, the dirtiness is a positive factor I use when describing the place to friends–that’s how you know it’s good!

The meat is to die for. Get it with the beans on the side so you can taste it better.

I grew up right on the Mexican border in California and this the only place I’ll go in Utah when I want actual Mexican food.

Great place to get some really good tacos. Get a volcano trust me. I’m only giving 3 stars because i got here at 1:40 and left at 3:40. Me and one friend sat down, waited so long and no one would clean the mess from the people prior to us. Or would take our order. Once some one finally cleaned a different table we moved there but still waited 20 minutes to even get a menu. After all the waiting though we finally got our food. The food always bring me back though. Some of the best tacos in Utah. If you get beans on your tacos you don’t need as much tacos as you think you’ll get full with 3-4 easy and I’m a big guy.
