Lovely atmosphere and delicious food! We were impressed from the minute we stepped inside. The Street Corn Esquite is authentic and perfect for two. The Mole Enchiladas with Chicken were exceptional, and the Birria Tacos were delicious; the sauces topped them off perfectly. The location in Evergreen is cozy with easy access from I-70 after a day of exploring the mountains. We are so glad we found this spot and definitely plan to return!

Awesome space, warm welcoming atmosphere. Great food and customer service. Modern take on the old school. Mexican food elevated, a variety of street tacos, awesome deconstructed guac, queso papas, so many apps, and entrees. Margarita flights and a few on tap too. A fiesta for your face. Live, love local!

Wonderful experience at this little gem. I had the Birria tacos. Shared the salsa trio with home made chips. And we had the chicken, mushroom and spinach quesadilla. Everything was fresh and tasty. Love the unique flavors. The cilantro rice and the green chili was just how my wife likes it. The ambiance is really upscale. Nice bar area and lots of different margarita flavors. Service was attentive and enthusiastic.

We purchased food several times before this visit, and all were very good. The food this visit was average, not great. We arrived around 8pm, with the restaurant closing at 9pm. It was not a busy evening, the restaurant was mostly empty. It took several minutes to receive attention from the staff, with the hostess eventually bringing water. We waited several more minutes until our server approached our table. We placed our order and waited for a surprisingly long time for our food, considering the lack of customers. One item we ordered was street corn. When it arrived, the bowl was half filled with liquid and lacking any flavor. The corn was not charred. When we eventually caught the server’s attention and told him, he checked with the kitchen and responded that it was the end of the corn for that evening, and that’s why it was served that way. Unfortunate that the cook could not be bothered to prepare the dish at that time of the evening.

If you’re ever in the Evergreen area, make sure to stop by Kalaka Mexican Restaurant, a likely gem! Their street tacos “asado” are an explosion of flavors that transported me back to my trip to Merida, Mexico. Their drink of the day “Barbielicious” margarita is to die for! The perfectly mixed ingredients make it just right. Kalaka is definitely a must-visit spot for any Mexican cuisine lover! The hospitality I received from Karina, the bartender at Kalaka Mexican Restaurant in Evergreen, was outstanding. She made me feel incredibly welcomed and at home, as if I was back in my favorite local spot back in Jersey. Her warm and friendly demeanor added to the overall experience, making it even more enjoyable. If you visit Kalaka, be sure to say hi to Karina for an extra special touch to your dining experience! Happy travels!!

Super fun place for dinner and not your usual Mexican food. Our guacamole and chips came in a bowl where you made your own guacamole, adding in pepitas, tomatoes, jalapeños, and a side flight of five different salsas. Our food and drinks were delicious!

Holy moly! I was just passing through and so very glad I went out my quick Qdoba realm because this honestly was the best Mexican food I think I’ve ever had. Never left a review before but had to for this. I got the Aztec bowl with the fish substitute and the fish was cooked to absolute perfection and the food looked beautiful and combined perfectly. Highly recommend even for a quick stop!

I’ve had steak fajitas at over 50 different Mexican restaurants and this was probably the best I have ever had. Very authentic food as well as the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
