I wanted to take my wife there for lunch and let me tell you I had faced multiple issue. Firstly, the parking on the street was horrendous, even it’s paid but the meter pole are no where near, you have to walk a block down to see the meter pole. This place and any business on this block face the same issue. If you assume that all you need is to walk in, you will face a ticket from the PPE.
Here is the next issue I found, when you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted with a foul odor smell like a dog’s or cat’ number 2. THAT’S BAD! Their style of restaurant is dim-sum meaning breakfast where people push cart to your table and you can select the food you want to eat. As I am recalling this location I feel nauseated because of the smell lingering in my nose. Beside from Dim-sum you can have family meal. But sorry couldn’t do it when the smell is so bad. Their tickets also in Chinese, you will not know how much for each food you have selected, the waitress’s job is brining you the food, they don’t explain or don’t tell you how much, they just circle on the paper and then you pay. Toilet is dirty. Will not be recommended if you don’t want to be sick. If the smell is like that who knows what else is clean?

Practically been going here since I was born. Family goes here for special occasions and Sundays. They have street parking and take out as well. We’ve always dined in. The boss knows the deal, everything is casual here if you’ve been coming for many years. Typical dim sum food and their shrimp balls are great. The tables are evenly spaced out so there’s no risk in bumping into someone. All in all, I come here all the time and it’s a great dim sum place.

This is the type of Chinese restaurant with the aquarium in the back with fresh seafood.
Get a fresh steamed fish and head on shrimp.
But the non seafood dishes are good too. They are also known for their duck.

The place is famous for its seafood and other authentic Cantonese dishes. We custom ordered a live Alaskan King Crab and they prepared several delicious dishes for us. Great service and friendly management. On street free parking was easy to find and free.

Real authentic Chinese Cantonese food, taste even better than the restaurants in HK, partly because not tasting similar food for a really long time. With the seafood ordered (lobster and deep ocean fish) on special occasion (hubby’s bday), the bill is over $150 before tips and took 1.5 hours for travel, it’s still worth it. Will come back with the family again.

My friends and co-workers used to come here every month for Dim Sum, when we have our monthly get together. I decided to go back this past weekend. The food, the service has always been consistent. Let’s be honest, this is by no means a 5 star fine dining restaurant. It is a place where a lot of local communities hang out, chill and have some good food.

Restaurant: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Food: 4/5
Parking: Street Parking

Restaurant itself is a bit rundown. Tables, chairs and utensils have seen better days, but they are at least clean. Restaurant has a very homey feel to it, yes it is a bit cramp depending on where you sit.

Service has always been great, the owner is always very friendly, and will accommodate you anyway he can, waiters and waitress are very helpful. Again, do not expect fine dining type of service, but it is a lot better than some of the full service restaurants I have been to.

Food here has always been good, which is the main reason why we keep going back. Temperatures are perfect, flavors are on point.

Overall a good restaurant with great food, if you crave or wanted to try some authentic Cantonese cuisines.

Jade Harbor offers authentic canton-sytle Chinese cuisine. with dishes that are distinctly flavorful and well-executed. however the restaurant premises appear dated. service also requires improvement.

My family and I used to frequent this spot whenever we were in Northeast Philly. They had $5 rice platters for lunch special. It included a free soup with the lunch special. It was honestly unbeatable price for the service. However, we visited a couple of days ago. The rice platters were $8 each. They no longer offer free soup. The rice portions was bigger and the meat portions were smaller. My go-to is usually beef and brocolli but they also changed up the cut of meat so the meat texture also went down a bit. I would still go but there are other options nearby.

Best dim sum I have had in along time. Been here several times. It’s not fancy by any means but this is the diamond in the rough type of place. Dim sum is $2.75 a piece and drinks are separate. Take home what you can’t finish. Street parking. Take out available. It’s not really date night type of place. Can be loud and noisy but some places are unique like that with great food.

Good food, alright service, however, even though the upstairs room states no smoking, people were still smoking.
