I stopped by this restaurant for dinner one night while I was staying in Albany. I could clearly see why this place has been around for over 100 years. The food and drinks were absolutely devine. The soup and Delmonico steak I ordered was bursting with flavor and they can surely whip up a fantastic cocktail. My server Scout was so sweet, friendly and attentive. The overall appearance of the restaurant is very elegant. I highly recommend checking this place out. I will definitely stop by again the next time I am in the area.

Jacks is the spot! Old world classy, from the servers suits to the rest of the restaurants decor, you can tell this has been an important spot for over a century. We found the service to be great and the food was wonderful. We had a bit of everything and it was all amazing. I’d highly recommend coming here for dinner if you’re in town, I certainly plan to be back again soon.

It was an absolutely perfect meal. We’re treated to an excellent amuse bouche. The oysters were delicious, from British Columbia and Washington State. The Manhattan chowder was not creamy but probably one of the best I’ve ever had. The muscles were light and flavorful. The Cornish game hen I had was superb and the pasta was excellent. Can’t recommend this place enough.

One of the best restaurants in Albany, NY hands down! The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. I ordered the famous Nantucket Soup which is an appetizer. Once I tasted it I immediately wanted another one and knew I would be coming back here again! I also ordered the Crab Cakes from the lunch menu and my wife ordered the Black & Blue Burger. We were both blown away by the flavor and taste of the dishes. I have since gone back and had dinner there by myself because it was so good the first time! Highly recommended!

The Food and staff are incredible at Jacks. As an area business owner, I can appreciate and recognize the extra mile spent on creating a great experience for it’s customers.

My daughter and I went to dinner there tonight with a 5:45 reservation. The food has the most unique taste unlike anything I’ve eaten before. The entire waitstaff was extremely professional. The coffee that I had would make Starbucks jealous. Tonight was my first time, it will not be my last. An excellent evening

Went for a special occasion. The service was excellent and so was the food. Got a free cheesecake that was amazing due to our celebration. Waiter also took our photo and gave us a nice Polaroid to take home.

Came here with family for Albany’s restaurant week. I stuck to the prix fixe menu while the family ordered other menu items. The evening began very slowly; it took our waiter 20 minutes and two reminders to get the restaurant week menus to us.

Service amazing, some food was spectacular, others not as much BUT I think it may have been more an issue of personal taste. Regardless they definitely put effort into it. Really enjoyable meal.

We received a warm welcome when we arrived. We were seated promptly. The restaurant is adhering to Covid guidelines with table seating. All staff were wearing masks. So it’s not crowded at all. The ambiance was very pleasant. There was a pre-printed paper menu. I ordered the Cesar salad, Cornish hen, and Strawberry Pastry dessert. The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! The portion size was perfect. The food was arranged with culinary finesse. The reason for the three stars is that the service was SLOW. For the small amount of people present in the restaurant, we were puzzled by the slow service. For each course of our meal, we waited at least 15 minutes. Our water jug was not refilled. I accidentally dropped my fork and the lady hostess said that she would bring me another fork. She forgot. There was an extra dessert fork on the table so I ate with that. Overall it’s a nice restaurant but just needs to work on a few things and be consistent among all patrons.
