If you have never tried this YOU SHOULD! Kid friendly! My daughters LOVED the food. We ordered the Lavish Bread, Hummus, lamb kebabs, swordfish kebab and the kids meatball meal. We were all pleasantly surprised by the flavor and ambiance. The girls said it was the BEST hummus they’ve ever had and would come back again and again. Also William J was a great server, attentive, caring and knowledgeable.

What a local gem! Istanbul Kebab House was such a great find in Burlington, Vermont. We were greeted by the owner, Hasan, who embodied Turkish hospitality from start to finish. Everything we tried was delicious, and Hasan gave fabulous recommendations. The space is adorned with tasteful Turkish decor, and the ambience is romantic. While we went for lunch, I’d love to return for dinner sometime. I recommend the mezze platter with extra lavash, and any of the Turkish wines. If you haven’t tried ayran or sour cherry juice (non-alcoholic drinks), you must! Everything is authentic here, so I am sure the salads and other apps are amazing, and my partner really enjoyed his kebab. Definitely stay for a Turkish tea or coffee after your meal—the Turkish way .

Absolutely loved the food. Sat outside on a beautiful evening and got myself a lamb eggplant dish. I was worried that it would be heavy but actually it was not a bit greasy or heavy. Even after a full meal, you don’t feel groggy or anything. Great light hearty meal to fill stomach. Super tasty too.

Really enjoyed this place. Not a large dining area when it’s to cold to eat outside, but loved the decor of the downstairs indoor area. The food and service was very good. Had the lamb kebab platter. The baklava was also very good.

Love the vibe of this place. Reminds me of my trips to Turkey. The kunefe dessert is a must try with tea. Their cocktails, especially the sour cherry one is so delicious. All the food was super flavorful and good. Get the bread!!

We walked into Istanbul Kebab without reservations prior to a movie at the Flynn with our family of 3. We started with the large mezzo platter with the lavash. We ended up getting more lavash to eat the hummus, babaganoush, Turkish salsa, haydari, and the stuffed grape leaves are amazing…a comforting combination of rice and herbs (cool and not cold). Had a Turkish red wine based on the recommendations on the menu.

We were lucky to get in here on a Saturday night without a reservation. We got the last table available and it didn’t take long to understand why they were so busy. Service was excellent, multiple employees stopped by the table at various times throughout the meal to ask if we needed anything and to bring items we ordered to us. Kebabs were excellent, we did the mixed grill to be able to try as much as possible. They have the real deal Raki, excellent Turkish coffee and teas (although we didn’t try the tea, I would assume based on everything else it would be authentic). I’ve been to Istanbul and they are as close to Turkish as you can get without a 10 hour plane ride. Well worth a stop when you are visiting Burlington! I know I will be back!
