One of the cleanest places I’ve ever eaten in my life. That also included the bathrooms and the sidewalks surrounding the property. For an inner city bar it was pristine. The greatest thing was that the food was unbelievably good. I had them custom make a Reuben cheeseburger that was one of the best Reuben cheeseburgers I’ve ever had in my life. The chef understands medium rare and The Corned Beef wasn’t salty and perfectly cooked. The lamb chops with the beautiful Irish chunky mashed potatoes with the perfectly cooked asparagus was award-winning. Yes it’s a bar but it’s so much more. And Guy Fieri needs to come and check it out.

Checked google reviews and yelp for a place within a mile of hotel for a beer and a decent pub style meal. Irish Ale House appeared to have rave reviews and the pictures seemed very appealing. I got the Steak and Cheese with Truffle fries which was a $18 special. My buddy got a Reuben. Both extremely dissatisfied. My steak and cheese was a steak um in a giant roll with cheese wiz and the truffle fries seemed like crinkle fries out of a bag from Big Y. Very mislead by other reviews. Bartender and beer were great. Oh.. and it cost me an extra $6 bucks as credit machine was down and had to pay cash after charges from in house ATM.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s a townie bar, which is fun. A Red Sox game was on, as well as an old game from the 1980s. I had a couple of beers. My dining companion ordered fish and chips but they ran out. (It was early afternoon, so that didn’t really add up to me.) He got salmon bites with fries, which he really liked. I ordered steak tips medium rare with broccoli and mashed potatoes. They didn’t have mashed potatoes. Then I was told they didn’t have broccoli, that they had asparagus. I got overcooked steak tips with broccoli. (It was more like Chinese stirfry.) There was rice as well, which I did not eat. I thought the sub would come with fries, since they’re both potatoes, but whatever.

Vinny is the best chef in New England, and Vanessa is an amazing bartender as well, with great service. Irish Ale house is a hidden gem in the Western mass area, and I would definitely check it out if you want good breakfast or lunch.
