Decided to try this out based on the positive reviews but now that we’ve gone we’re just utterly confused at the 4.4 star rating.

Hidden gem that should definitely get more business. Went here on Christmas Eve with my family and we were treated extremely well. Our server was super attentive and very throughout in answering all our questions about the dishes. As for the food itself I got a spicy penne dish that had a simple yet delightful flavor. I had actually eaten a meal before coming in but I fell in love with this dish so much that my stomach found the room and I finished my whole bowl. If you’re looking for something new around Meridian give this place a shot!

Alright first what we got, beef short rib ravioli, chicken parm, filet mignon Alfredo, and Italian sausage Alfredo.

We had made reservations for a special occasion and were looking forward to an evening of good food, good wine and fantastic company – we weren’t disappointed. Our server was “Saavy” and she was pleasant, professional and served our food in a way that we were able to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. We started with the bruschetta and the beet salad, both of which have never disappointed us yet! Our entrees were prepared to perfection and everyone left the table satisfied and full. We recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place that has a pleasant ambiance, a relaxed time for enjoying food, and who can appreciate that prices reflect not only the food, but the service and the ambiance as well. We love Il Sugo and it has become our favorite Meridian neighborhood Italian food place!

The taste was phenomenal. The service was phenomenal. I only wish the portions were bigger, but I took one bite of my basil chicken Alfredo and knew immediately, right then and there, that I was going to happily shell out another 17$ to get another plate of it. And I did. Absolutely worth every penny

After three weeks touring Italy this summer, we definitely have opinions on the local Italian culinary scene. Highs: three of four entrees, bread, meatball appetizer, service, and decor. For a strip mall restaurant, they have really managed well to insulate against the bland suburban landscape outside. Lows: watery balsalmic vinegar and low-flavor oil (no S & P or Italian spices on the table) to go with the bread. Oversauced/packed dishes where sometimes less is more. The Bruschetta appetizer, while maybe tasty for some, was not what I was expecting and overpowered by garlic. More of a purist here, and the main ingredients were either not there or indistinguishable. Just give me tomato, fresh basil, oil and balsalmic. Stick with your faves and you won’t be disappointed!

If you have not dined at Il Sugo, you are missing out on some of the best Italian fare in the Treasure Valley! Everything was exceptional, from the wait staff to the menu selection and food quality. Will definitely dine there again!

Great, Italian restaurant. After being disappointed by almost every major player in the TV, il Sugo was a welcome and pleasant surprise.

If you like Italian cuisine you really need to check this place out. The food is absolutely amazing! If I hadn’t been on a “date” I would have asked to plant a big wet one on the chef. It was THAT good.

Really pleased with this little gem of a place, all the way around. This was our third time having dinner in there since they opened two or so years ago. (By the way, anyone opening a new restaurant during the middle of the pandemic is brave and has my absolute respect). Full bar. Nice wine list with several Italian Wine choices. Delicious food. Service was top notch again today. Fun ambiance.
