I love the bagels here at Humble Bagel. I eat here when visiting my daughter at Tulane. I am a native New Yorker and I’ve eaten the best bagels in New York City. This is not a New York City Bagel, but that’s not the point, it’s a great bagel of its own type. The taste is wonderful and the cream cheese spreads are delicious. I really enjoy the everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese and the coffee tastes great as well. I highly recommend this place, and you won’t be disappointed.

Not impressed with the outcome. Creme cheese is low quality and tasted overbearing of Sriracha, and bagel was messy. Flavor wasn’t great. Couldn’t taste the salmon, capers or even bagel with the supposed creme cheese that didn’t taste like creme cheese.

I noticed when I was visiting friends in New Orleans that this neighborhood bagel shop usually has lines out the door so I decided to give it a try. And I am so glad that I did! Wonderfully dense bagels that are the perfect compliment for the housemade, addictive spreads that I couldn’t get enough of. Definitely worth the wait.

Wonderful bagels. Went with my nephew, who thinks he is a bagel expert, put Humble in the top 2 of bagel places he has tried. The Sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel was really good. The toasted crunch and chewy inside was a perfect combination. Need to get there early because they sell out of flavors quickly. Check it out. We are going back!

This is the best bagel I’ve had in New Orleans. It’s as close to a NY bagel you can get here. Seriously. I’m a native NYer & have family in the bagel business in CT. I’ve been living here for the past couple of years, trying every bagel/deli shop that sells ‘em and these are on point. Boiled, baked, crisp crust, proper denseness on the inside.

Got a honey whole wheat and cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Both tasted like garlic and onion so clearly mixed with the everything bagels at some point. Cream cheese was bland and not sweet at all. Sorry to say this was a bad experience, hopefully it’s an anomaly.

Recently they seemed to have changed their recipes for the worse. We had to throw away our everything bagels this week due to additions of what seemed like too much sage and maybe cayenne. Extra black pepper or something was also in the scallion cream cheese. Used to like this place but won’t be returning if they keep worsening their recipes.

They need a different name because they are far from humble. The word to describe the staff is just rude. I got there on a Sunday after church and was told that not only are they out of bagels but if I should have gotten there earlier.

Although there are not alot of Food options the Bagel assortment is pretty solid. We ordered Bagel Breakfast sandwiches. The taste was also very good. The only thing that would make this place better would be a few more coffee options. There is a good Coffee Shop very close so maybe that is the reason they just carry a basic option.

So, the three stars doesn’t mean it’s bad. It means they sell bagels and cream cheese and lox like other bagel establishments. And I would go back there and have been back many times. However, they close at 1pm or when they sell out. And they open at 7am. They don’t take phone orders. So, it’s like every place else mainly. And I will be back. Perhaps if they made something interesting like sweet potato bagel knots and they tasted amazing it might be a five. But since there is nothing signature about them ( homemade doesn’t make it special that’s expected) a three it is.
