I was going to give this place 3 stars because it’s just average for BBQ in Texas. The “meat” portion is skimpy, the sauce is generic and there’s nothing special about the beans or mac-n-cheese.

I wanted to like this because I love Mo’Better Brews. This was my first time ordering. I may have messed up by ordering delivery BUT…I ordered the brisket and mac and I was really disappointed. The Mac wasn’t cooked all the way and it was dry as hell. The sauce on the brisket was good but I did not care for this at all. I don’t think I’ll be trying again. It came it 20 minutes, I live close by. That was a plus but I didn’t make up for me feeling like I wasted $30.

Last week I ordered food online from this company. I arrived 10 mins after the order was supposed to be ready but when I got there they hadn’t even started. I checked my food before I left to find out that I only had one patty instead of two like it stated on the menu. When I told the person at the register they told me their menu was wrong online and I would have to pay another $8. I stated, it wasn’t my fault their menu was wrong and that they should honor their menu. She went to go get someone else (I assume a manager or owner) and he started off by telling me that ordering online “was my first mistake” as they have to keep looking at the computer to see if they have an order. Then he goes on to re-state the menu was wrong and they instead of paying $16 I would have to pay $24. Then he said, I could get a refund if I wanted it so I just got a refund. As someone who has worked as a business advisor for 20 years, I couldn’t understand how throwing away the food and refunding my money made more sense than honoring the price on the menu and potentially having a customer for life. The customer service was definitely poor and I can’t even tell you what the food was like.

This place was a great first try. I had the link plate with Mac and beans. The Mac was decent could use some flavor. I can tell it’s just plain noodles, nutritional yeast and some turmeric for color . People who’s just starting off their vegan diet or want something different may think it’s good. The beans were ok. Needed some seasoning. Brown sugar, garlic powder SOMETHING! The best thing on the plate was the links . It was really bomb! The customer service was good too. The owner was really nice. I’ll go back and try something different. For starters it wasn’t a bad experience. Very pleasant

It’s been a while since I have ordered a meal at the Houston sauce pit without any issues. My overall experiences have not been the best. Whether I placed an order online and once I arrived, they did not have the menu items I ordered so I had to get a refund. Meaning, their website is not updating what items they are selling out of. Has this been resolved yet, I do not have an answer. At times, they will have issues with the machine which takes payments & you’ll have to wait until it is resolved. On this specific day, the weather was not the best so no customers were ahead of us but even at that, the menu item that I wanted, they did not have. So because of it, I had to get a different menu item. We ended up ordering a Smoked Link Loaded Baker and Smoked Veef Loaded Baker paired with BBQ Baked Beans. The wait time was fine since we were the only customers their due to the harsh weather. Prices are steep especially if one orders various items. The potatoes themselves are colossal in size and they are generous in their serving sizes. The only issue I found was both potatoes were lacking “sauce.” Once one begins consuming the potatoes, under all the proteins, they do not add much sauce, if not any at all so the potato is dry by that point, in need of additional sauce. The beans were decent but they have tasted better in prior visits. Overall, the vegan barbecue is good and I would suggest for anyone to try them out. I definitely would suggest to go early and to be cautious if you order online as they might not have certain menu items.

The staff was amazing, friendly, and quick. I had the vegan brisket mac snd cheese, and the Brussel srpouts….the guy behind me was a regular and his frito pie looked so amazing I had to take a picture. I didn’t have a picture of the brisket mac and cheese because y daughter and I ate it and forgot to take a pic. It was that good. This place is the truth. Check them out you will not be disappointed!!

If you are craving vegan bbq, this is the place to go! The alluring aroma will completely captivate you! Great service, great food and variety, good portions for the price. My non-vegan friend got the nachos with the mock fajita beef and it was delicious! She appreciated the cheese sauce was made from Potatoes vs cashews so she could enjoy. She couldn’t believe it was vegan! I had the baked potato with the bbq mock sausage. It was great with a wonderful after taste. Needed a smidge more sour cream, and when I asked I was provided with it at no extra charge. Also got the strawberry lemonade which is super sweet! Can easily be mixed with another alcoholic beverage. I mixed it with tea and it was so good. It was an hour drive that I can’t wait to make again!
