I don’t have the words to express this place. The hospitality is the best ever. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with green beans was wonderful. The owner of the place is super nice. He greets you when you come in and checks on you during the time your there. His wife makes all the fabulous pies herself. So full from eating our food that we got our desserts to go. I will definitely come back when coming out this way EVERYTIME. Prices are good, place is clean and can’t get any nicer people. Great Job

We enjoyed many different dishes that were all amazing! We loved the southern style atmosphere and all of the decor. Everyone was so kind, even the cook Kevin came out to ask us how our meal was. That was so thoughtful and considerate! We will definitely be back when we get a hankerin for some comfort foods!

Was passing through Paris, TX and had this place mistakenly saved from the Texas Bucket list. I recommend Shane comes back and checks this place out, would be well worth a trip on the Texas Bucket list. Had dinner and the steak was cooked medium rare perfectly. The chicken tenders are definitely prepared in house and delicious. Ezekiel was our waiter and he was amazing. The atmosphere here is also a huge plus, sat in the It’s a Wonderful Life booth and loved it. Experience was so awesome, returned next morning for breakfast and they didn’t disappoint! Payton was our server and she and Ezekiel represent High Cotton very well! Eggs and meats were absolutely delicious and the coffee was smooth. I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local restaurants and avoid chains!

The food was AAAAMAZING! Best home cooked meal I’ve had in a long time. Generous portions at a reasonable price. I couldn’t eat it all and took the rest to go. Cute decor, clean and the staff was friendly. The owner stopped by to shake my hand and thanked me for stopping by. I’m so impressed by the whole experience. I seriously LOVE this place!

Excellent food! THE most hospitable restaurant I’ve ever been to. The owner greets everyone, and asks how everything is- and it is extraordinarily delicious.

Second time coming here, in fact came to Paris specifically to eat here!! 2 hours of driving from my house – totally worth it!!! Wanted to treat my mother on her last night in east Texas. Not disappointed!!!!! The fried food was the best we have ever eaten. Period. Everything was delicious and I’m more in love with HCK than ever before! Can’t wait for my next special occasion

We were traveling through Paris and stopped here. The owner was friendly and made recommendations to our group. Some of the group favorites were the Chicken Fried Steak, Salmon Croquette, and the Bread Pudding. Everything was delicious.

It’s a homey restaurant with southern hospitality. Very friendly. The owner is friendly and speaks to the patrons. He stopped and even spoke to the kids. He seems to be very strict with making sure the staff gets things done his way. The food is good. Plates are $12-$15 each average, and the portions are not large. I was given 1/4 cup of potatoes (but charged more because they were loaded, with cheese and sour cream) and maybe 1/3 cup of squash with a small, thin, grilled chicken breast with a creamy Dijon sauce. The flavor was not horrible but not my taste. Past visits have been delicious, but again, only serving size portions. If you want fries, you will get an entire basket, so if you’re hungry, get that as a side. The fried chicken breast had a larger portion. I’ll be back. It’s a homey restaurant with southern hospitality.

We went with our 2 year old after a Dr appointment. We sat on the porch during a drizzle, after rain. Service was excellent, super friendly and checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything and enjoying ourselves. We ordered the Queso and chips for an appetizer, Wonderful! My husband ordered the Chicken fried steak with extra fries, was not disappointed in any way. I ordered the Chicken fried pork loin, baked squash and loaded mashed potatoes. It was so delicious.. I wanted to steal the recipe for it all!! I hope y’all enjoy as we did!!!
