The concept for our business began with three Northern European words which have no immediate translation into the English Language: ‘Gezellig’ (Dutch), ‘Fika’ (Swedish), and ‘Hygge’ (Danish) are words that express a sense of pausing over baked goods in a comfortable, pleasant, environment with loved ones. It is our mission to take those abstract ideas and make them concrete at our bake shop. Hazella is truly a family endeavor. Your hosts, Michael, Rebecca, and their daughter, Katherine, derived a business model to celebrate family and community where they can invite guests to pause and savor in a space that feels like home.

I cannot say enough good things about Hazella’s. I have a family member who is gluten free and all the gluten free items that have had don’t last for long. Rebecca and Micheal are so sweet. It’s so nice having this bakery in town. A great addition to the Lebanon Community!

The only critique I have for Hazella is that they didn’t come to Lebanon sooner. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by a crew who makes you feel like they’ve known you for years. And with pastries as good as theirs it’s no wonder they have as many regulars as they do. A warm and welcoming atmosphere coupled with the best treats in town makes for a place that can only be described as a second home. Michael and Rebecca, I hope your business stays for a long time.

I just experienced Hazella for the first time. Hands down the best pastries I have ever eaten. The flavor combination of the savory “Ham and on Gruyere Braid” was perfect. Also had an apple filled pastry, that was also excellent. Very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Look forward to trying all the selections.

Wow!! Lebanon is SO lucky to have this sweet little bakery! I always stop in a local bakery when I’m in a new place, and this is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve found. What a GEM! My husband and I stopped here on a road trip between Salem and Redmond in early June. I found it based on Google Reviews and it was even better than we ever could have imagined. The owner is SO personable and took time to learn about us (we are from New Orleans). We tried 4 pastries and honestly wished we would have been able to sit there and sample everything but it was a quick stop. Would HIGHLY recommend in any scenario!

Wow! Between the high quality of all of their baked goods and the friendliness of the staff, it is clear why Hazella has received five stars from every single reviewer! We were passing through town and happened to walk in there about five minutes before closing time. We walked in as Rebecca and Michael were cleaning up, uncertain of how we would be received at such a late time, and were welcomed as if we had just walked in at opening time. They had a handful of sweet and savory options left over. We got a box of them to go, and every one of them was top-notch!
