Our group had oysters on the half shell, scallops wrapped in bacon, haddock chowder, prime rib, berry salad with haddock, crabcake, chocolate mousse, and fish and chips. The only thing that wasn’t great was the crabcake. The rest was super.

Nice pub in middle of Damariscotta, great food, staff, atmosphere .voted best in Maine many times..I can see why. The Blueberry honey wings where exquisite, the Eider Dip duck sandwich wow, the bloody Mary with a side of 3 local raw oysters.. oh my. But my absolute favorite was the Barbecue pub fries with the Ranch, I will dream about that dish for a long time… my wife said the draft cider was great too..

Holy moly. Food was phenomenal. Staff was not just quick, friendly, and knowledgeable but they were so in sync it was very cool. Atmosphere even on a rainy day was upbeat and homey, great music playing in the background and OMG I will dream about this cupcake until the next visit. Quite possible, the best desert of All Time. Pictured in pieces below because there was no waiting to dive in.

The atmosphere and service is unbeatable, and the food is excellent to match. I had the biggest oysters I’ve ever had, and they have a great special where you get three with a beer. The lobster dinner is a must, with mussels and fries and slaw. The schooners on the ceiling adds to the cozy, friendly ambience. A must visit!

Nice pub in downtown Damariscotta. Good (albeit fairly limited) selection of traditional Maine food and pub options. The cocktail menu looked interesting, but we skipped it since it was midday and we were driving. The seafood chowder was great. Full of seafood with a nice creamy base. The crab cake appetizer was also good. Crunchy breading and little filler inside. But definitely appetizer sized! I think these were the smallest crab cakes I’ve ever seen! I was disappointed at the lack of a traditional fish and chips on the menu, but we went with the “untraditional ” that they do offer. The broiled haddock was really good, the fries so-so. Nothing special. All in all, the meal was fine, but I’m not sure I would go back. Plenty of other places to try in the area.

We had spent the day touring the Maine Oyster Trail, and, honestly, we questioned our desire to eat any more. At the advice of Steve, our host at Hawks House, we made a reservation and decided to go for something on the light side before calling it a day. We’re so glad we did. We enjoyed a plate of mussels that were plump and cooked to perfection: the broth was exquisite, the accompanying bread perfect. We followed by sharing crab cakes that were quite good and nicely presented, as well as a salad. The atmosphere was wonderful, as people got together to share their friendship. Our waitress was accommodating and professional. Altogether a most pleasant evening.

Great food, Awesome staff. My first time in the area and Maine in general. My friend from NYC bought a house in the area. Will definitely come back in the summer!

We came for the whiskey and stayed for the food. My burger was really good, cooked to specifications exactly. My husband ordered the steak and ale pie. He loved the tender meat and hearty portion but was not really impressed by the hard crust. I had one of the best mojitos ever. Our service was spot on attentiveness. We would definitely come again.

Skillet roasted oysters were the best cooked oysters I’ve had. Cocktails and drinks were all great. Good selection. The food was great all over. Both indoor and outdoor seating. 10/10, will be back next summer on the annual Maine trip.
