This is a great family style restaurant. They are only open seasonly and it’s all outdoors seating. They range from salads, Mexican, ice cream and steak & fry bowls. The food is always good, which means there tends to always be a line. But the food is definitely worth the wait.

Hanks is a Beaver County staple. This is the kind of place that would be featured on Diners, Drives, and Dives. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was incredibly busy. Huge menu with lots to choose from. Although Hanks is best known for their tacos, I decided to go with the steak salad since I moved away from the area and can no longer find an authentic Pittsburgh style salad. It did not disappoint. Steak salad was delicious. Also, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a pint of their homemade custard.

Great place to go, on a nice day. The service is fast, so if the line is long, don’t sweat it. The food isn’t amazing but it is pretty good and the reasonable pricing reflects that. It’s generous, messy, mexi/American food. So grab extra napkins. It doubles as a custard ice cream stand so leave a little room for dessert. The custard menu offerings are basic but everything is home made and pretty tasty.

Visited here for the first time a couple days ago. The food was really good! It’s a great concession style place to grab a quick meal and/or dessert! There’s plenty of parking and picnic tables available too. I’ll be adding this place to my “I don’t feel like cooking today” takeout rotation.

I got the wrap around tacos that were absolutely delicious. My wife got the taco salad and was equally pleased with her choice. As you can see by the menus I posted it’s more than just Mexican food there is an American flair as well and of course there’s the delicious custard for dessert. I recommend Hanks to anybody who just likes to get out with the family and get something good to eat!

Amazing variety. The food is good no matter what you order, and almost every item is customizable. All of their items are a great value for your dollar. I wait all winter for Hanks to open, and it is ALWAYS worth the wait. Apparently, they have great ice cream also, but I never make it out of my food coma to order any. They are having a hard time finding staff, but the staff they do have are just amazing. This is a must try spot in Western Pennsylvania.

The custard is delicious! The tacos are severely over-rated and over-priced. I truly don’t know why locals lose their minds to pack the parking lot of this place every day; packaged tacos made at home have more flavor than this place.

Hanks is like someone that never experienced tacos read up on it and made some. Pretty american style Mexican food. Service is often slow bc things are made to order. You’ll either love or hate eating outside. Not sure if I really like it or it’s nostalgia that brings you back. Consistently mid, but at least it’s consistent.

Both the Mexican food and the custard are outstanding, and the service is both courteous and quick, especially compared to the high volume of customers. The Taco Joe is a genius invention, and they should bottle their El Scorcho Sauce!
