Han Dynasty opened its doors in 2007 as a Mother-Son restaurant bringing Sichuan style spice to the American audience. We’ve grown to 10 locations across Philadelphia and NYC. We are committed to sharing the authentic cuisine of the Sichuan Chinese culture and the tradition behind it. Han Dynasty’s mission encompasses not just serving great food, but providing great experiences in our unique locations featuring local art, at our lively bars, and in our private events. Our delivery game is on point too, getting to you quickly with the same care and attention you find when dining in our restaurants. My food is a perfect balance of spice, numbness, saltiness, and flavor – Han Chiang, Founder

Great food and service! The sign on the door says Han Dynasty was rated one of the top 50 Chinese restaurants in the US, so I went in with high expectations. I’m happy to report that I left pretty satisfied! This BYOB has great variety of dishes to try with different meat and sauce combinations. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and the portions were great for family style sharing. We especially enjoyed the dumplings in chili oil and scallion pancakes as appetizers and I really liked the hot style chicken. My Mom and brother especially enjoyed the garlic style beef. We also had our choice of white or brown rice with our dishes which supplemented the meats and veggies well. The staff was also very friendly and made great recommendations for what to try. One complaint I have is that they don’t do anything to acknowledge birthdays, which is unfortunate because the family style portions lend themselves well to family gatherings such as birthdays. Another complaint is that I’ve had takeout from here before and it’s not as good (but still not bad!) as eating the food in-person. I’ve also been to the University City location and it’s noticeably grander with a bigger space, more comfortable seating, and a cocktail menu. The Cherry Hill Location is fine enough too; it’s just that the lights are a little dim and there was a pesky fly that wouldn’t leave us alone. Overall, I’d definitely come back to this location since it’s more convenient for me and I’m anxious to try some of their other dishes!!

The dishes are delicious. Just be mindful what spice level to choose. Big of fan of their Dandan noodles and scallion pancakes.

We drove 3 hours just to eat here. Yes, it’s that good. We love it. The Dan Dan Noodles are tasty with a perfect umami flavor. Must admin they were a little different from the last time but tasty nonetheless. The dry fry style chicken customized with the addition of Sichuan peppercorns is to die for especially when paired with their vegetable fried rice with extra egg. We also tried the cumin style tofu and it’s the best tofu dish I’ve ever had. The texture on that tofu and the spicy cumin crust satisfies at so many levels!

Been here many times. It is BYO. I like the wontons in chili oil, dry pepper fish and the chinese cabbage with dried peppers. Recently I have fell in love with the Pickled Chili style Fish. So delicious. Never have a problem with service, and honestly even though the restaurant atmosphere is not high end, its good quality food and they will customize how you want. Also always tables available usually no wait.

The food here isn’t like your typical American Chinese restaurants, they have a completely different taste based on the Sichuan style menu, so don’t expect your overly sweet chicken dishes, but rather savory and spicy. I’ve gone here multiple times and the spicy Kung Pao is a winner, and the dumplings are to die for.

Visited a few weeks ago, it was so good I am back today!! The fried dumplings are delicious. The first time I got the chicken lo mein and it was a bit spicy but very good. My husband got the beef with long peppers and wow just delicious!! It comes with white rice on the side and a bite of rice with the beef is so good. I’m back today getting the same dish it is that good. Place is busy and seems to do a tremendous take out business. Highly recommended!

If you haven’t been here yet, put it on your list right now! Get anything but especially the Dan Dan noodles and the pea leaves. You’re welcome.

One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around. Not the typical American style Chinese you find. I love that they can change the spice level of a dish. I think they are perfect the way they are but if you want more or less you can ask for it. They can also alter any dish to better suit any dietary needs as well. Staff if friendly and happy to assist with any inquiries you have regarding the menu or food. Photos are of Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Crisp Cucumbers, Garlic Chicken, and Ants Climb a Tree. The noodle dishes are delicious. And the cucumbers were a unique appitizer. Can’t wait to go back and try a new dish.
