Tried this place for lunch for this first time due to a recommendation from a co-worker.

It was amazing. The meat on the sandwich was moist and full of flavor. The beans have to be the best beans in town, hands down. I will be back for more.

As for the other reviews that I took the time to read on here about the lack of meat on the sandwich, well from the photo I attached you can see that is not true at all. In addition the bun did not get soggy what so ever.

Great place to eat.

Mark and Tammy are great owner’s. They make juicy delicious Smokehouse BBQ, they make homemade sauces that are phenomenal. I recommend the fully loaded porky, you won’t leave hungry! Need to fill that spicy yet flavorful craving, order a side of wicked sassy sauce. I’ve been a customer since day one at the official location in Marshfield. I enjoy making the trip to there new location in Rothschild!

Great flavors to the sauces and meats. Brisquet not overly smoky tasting. I had a brisquet sandwich; the bun was about 8″ and full of meat. Friendly staff, clean building. Wish they would provide ice for the drinks even though drinks are cold.

1/5 is a generous rating
My scenario: My friends and I wanted to go out to eat so we planned our dinner the night before and decided to go somewhere local to support their business (Lamar’s). When you enter the restaurant all of the items on the menu are on a poorly up kept chalkboard that you can barely read, and there are no menus. When we arrived there was only 1 couple ahead of us. I decided to order the brisket sandwich with 1 side which came to $12! I was like “okay it’s brisket, it’s a little more expensive, that’s fine, and it’s a local business” so I was okay with the prices being higher at first. We all had ordered our food which wasn’t much, all together 2 sandwiches, a wrap and one of my friends just ordered fries. While waiting the couple before us got their food in a timely manner and looked good to eat. Somehow my friends and I ended up waiting a half an hour for our food. When my food was brought out (brisket sandwich) it had roughly 2 oz of meat on it. I was shocked. There was nothing else just 2 oz of meat and a bun. At this point I was so hungry I told myself screw it and ate it anyways. One of my friends had ordered a side order of nachos. When they came out with the food they were completely cold. All the nachos were, were a tiny boat of overcooked chips and drizzled store bought nacho cheese with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. Our “waiter” came back 10 minuets later and asked us if everything was okay. My friend mention that the nachos were cold and asked if he could get them replaced with the cheese on the side. Not very long after that our “waiter” returned with another boat of nachos and yet again put the cheese on top of the chips. I ate my brisket sandwich in 3 bites it was so small. The one positive was that my garlic mashed potatoes were really good.

Restaurant is:
Dirty, cold
Confusing menu, lack of physical menus
No waiter, backwards ordering system
Expensive food for the quantity your receive in return
Takes a long time to get your food

This is the first BBQ restaurant I’ve been to that actually tastes like real Texas BBQ. The brisket was moist and perfectly done. My only criticism is the potato salad was a bit bland in comparison with the rest of the dinner.
Will eat here again.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I sampled all the sauces and being someone that isn’t a fan of traditional BBQ… The variety was nice! The prices were good as well. I definitely will return.

The fat guy at Harbor Freight suggested I try this place. My big brisket sando was just ok to below average. Decent sized but greasy. The side of mashed potatoes (soup) was beyond sad. I POURED it from the container. And it had kind of a rancid flavor. The best part of the experience was the pretty blond who served me. Too bad she felt ok serving those nasty mashed potatoes to me. Prices are pretty gougy. $13 for a sando and side. $25 for a full rack meal???? Don’t waste your money here. Go to Roadhouse.

Your response to an honest review is to double down and attack the customer??

Your food is terrible, and over priced. You closed your store in Marshfield because no one wanted your refuse. Soon this one will close also. Just a matter of time for a bad food restaurant.

Almost didn’t give Lammar’s five stars, because of the overall decor & seating and the take-it-or-leave-it bbq sauces (but it is a great selection of sauces, including mustard and carolina vinegar). But the BBQ is EXCELLENT! You don’t need sauce. The smoked turkey and the beef brisket were delicious as is, full of flavor and melt-in-your-mouth moist. I am not exaggerating. I understand restaurants have an off day at times, but our meal was excellent. The side dishes were good: the coleslaw was a bit heavy on mayonnaise, the green beans were homestyle, not restaurant style, and not overcooked to death, potato salad was tasty. A plus: this restaurant makes gluten-free eating EASY.

Little sketchy from the road but WOW.
Awesome value, picked up 1/2 lb pulled pork, 1/2 brisket and half rack of ribs for under $20.
Small sitting area, but delicious food!
