A quaint little place with decent service that suffers like many other restaurants from the effects of the Midwesterner palate. So many places around this area have these high ratings, so I go in with high expectations to be greeted with very bland food. I read several reviews about how “amazing” or “the best” the Italian beef was only to find it lacking flavor or anything to set it apart from other dishes. The sauce was bland, and the bread flavorless. This is Italian food. There should be an explosion of flavor when you take a bite, but yet there is none. Overall, the price was okay for the amount of food you get, but here in the Midwest overall, that seems to be the only thing that matters to people. As long as you have tons of food flavor is irrelevant, so to that extent, I can’t blame this restaurant for falling into the classic trope that Midwestern eating establishments fall into. If you moved this place down south or on the coast, it would shut down due to the lack of customers.

Reliable, yummy spot. The menu is big enough but not too big. Everyone in the family can find something they like, including your picky eaters. The prices aren’t bad. There is usually always space for our family of 7. Parking is fine. It’s a big, gravel lot. We love it here!

We tried Gerrie’s because of the great reviews and delicious looking photos of the food, and were not disappointed. The atmosphere and ambiance were exceptional, really felt like a quaint Italian restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. We arrived late in the evening on a Saturday night and were treated like long awaited guests. With most everything homemade it was a meal we will remember.

Food was good. However, they put us next to the stairs, which were flush with the table. Forgot our appetizer and we had to wait longer for it. Proceeded to clean and flip up chairs while we ate which is a bit rude. The worst part was the mop smell since they mopped as we ate and the table was flush with the floor

We love Gerrie’s! Excellent food combined with great service and a fun unique atmosphere. We moved away from Clinton so we don’t get to enjoy it as often as we’d like to. If you are in that area we would highly recommend visiting. I especially love their Ruben sandwich. It’s off menu but top two I’ve ever had. And as for everything else they offer, world class food with a home town touch of class.

I like it because it feels like you’re in a family home but it’s not awkward and claustrophobic. Lots of big spaces. Massive portions. Very reasonable prices, almost want to say “cheap,” but don’t want to give the wrong impression. I do mean massive portions, though.

Outside looked new, inside…not to much. Chicken marsala was no flavor at all. Waitress never came back to ask how food was. It was bad by the way.. Cesar salad dressing was soooo spicy. Just not very good experiance at all. I can’t recommend this place at all. I was trying to be optimistic.

My first time here, although I’ve been wanting to visit for years. Great Italian beef sandwich and delicious fries. Waitress was very pleasant. Neat decor, also.

Gerrie’s is the place to go for Italian food, period. Coming from Terre Haute, it was worth the drive! The food was amazing to say the least, the staff was super kind, and the building was beautiful. I also learned that about 10 years ago the building went through a total renovation to become Gerrie’s and bring some life back to an old building. However, walking in feels like it’s been there forever and everyone I talked to in the community agrees. It’s a staple in the daily lives of many families in the area. There is also a neat little bar area, and private rooms for small gatherings. If you haven’t been here yet, you need to.

Came here this evening to celebrate my 40th anniversary with my parents and young family. The food was amazing and plentiful, wine was good and cold, and the service was fantastic — and we are a needy group. This was a way better experience than anything we could have done in town. Thanks for a great experience!
