My family and I have been coming here for 10+ years but it has really gone down hill. When I called to place an order the woman on the phone just laughed the whole time. I asked her to read back the order and corrected something but was told she just read it wrong and the order was correct. I picked up my order and somehow the bagel that she read out correctly was completely wrong, and a vegetarian ended up accidentally eating turkey when a tomato egg and cheese was ordered.

Heard a lot about this place from friends. Finally decided to go try it at breakfast. The bagel was stale and the sandwich (bacon/egg/cheese) was just pretty bland at a premium price.

Unfortunately I have to give it a star because if it was up to me I wouldn’t. Trying to place an order over the phone and wait for them to ACTUALLY answer the phone is like waiting for pigs to fly. I understand it’s a Saturday and it gets busy but I shouldn’t have to be calling 10 times and still not be able to answer the phone. They need to get organized with the ordering over the phone.

I never visit Jersey without stopping at Gem’s. The bagels are great — probably the best in the area. The service is friendly and efficient. Stop in for a greasy sandwich the morning after a night out or for a good lunch sandwich. Either way, you’ll leave satisfied.
