What a gem on Long Island! fantastic food – we went for my birthday and it was izakaya night . The service was spectacular and the food was to die for! Everything served was spectacular!! truly haven’t experienced anything like this on the island!

The food was exceptional. The flavors were well balanced and everything was delicious. We had the wine pairing and they offered a selection of both classic and unique wines. The atmosphere was also pleasing. My only qualm would be my interaction with the chefs. When I go to these types of restaurants, the chefs are usually more interactive or there’s at least one chef that matches what you want socially. I felt dismissed there. I asked about a beautiful presentation and was told not to worry about it because it wasn’t supposed to be eaten and that it was dirt. It wasn’t dirt. If I didn’t want to interact with chefs, I’d save my time and money by eating at a conventional restaurant. Nevertheless, I didn’t take off stars because I may be in the minority with my interaction preferences and Jared, our host and sommelier, was excellent. He could read the room that I wanted to interact, he answered my questions, and he match my enthusiasm for the experience. We’ll likely return, but I’ll manage my expectations when it comes to interacting with the chefs.

We had an incredible dinner at Four, to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were both blown away by the creative menu. The complexity of each course was amazing! The staff was engaging and super attentive! We loved everything about the experience. My wife loved the plates & glasses, they were beautiful and showcased each course. Everything was well orchestrated. Expensive, but well worth the experience! Looking forward to another special occasion!

The kitchen setup wasn’t conducive to the experience of watching the chefs in action. Their backs were turned to us all the time while cooking.

We’ve eaten all over the world and this little gem easily sits in our top 1% bucket. The food was amazing, the hosts were wonderful, and the experience was top notch. And supposedly we went on a night that wasn’t “their best”!?! We’ll be back for round 2 …

I’m a Borough Kid following good eats wherever they may be found. Four’s Chef Counter wasn’t on my list and I hadn’t heard of it before this Spring. A friend of mine invited me to join in on a dinner months in advance as it was on her radar and she knew it would be a moderately tough resy, especially considering there were only ten (10) seats per seating. The planets aligned and we were able to get spot that accommodated our group!

We did the 17 course tasting at 4 on 2/11. It’s like a newer and cleaner version of Chefs Table (Brooklyn and Manhatan), but no angry chef. Everything in the kitchen is brand new, the plates are from all over the world, and the food is spectacular. Mostly single bites, so you don’t get too full. Chef Jesse overseas, Matthew helps orchestrate, and the experience is worth every penny. I recently moved to the area, and this restaurant is as good as anywhere in the Tristate region.

I rarely write reviews but I’m compelled to write one about this restaurant. An early reviewer, Joseph M. could not be more wrong. I’m sorry but haters are always gonna hate. I watched my food being cooked and there was NO cross contamination. The portions are TASTINGS and so are small. Yet by the sixth course, we were stuffed and had to push through to get to the end. We did the wine pairing with the courses. My favorite courses were the char sui, the arepa, arctic char with chorizo on top, and (I normally dislike falafel but) the falafel with crab was AMAZING! For dessert we had a banana crème pie with avocado ice cream. Who would have known that combo could be so tasty??? We did the wine pairing, which was delicious, and went great with the food. This is one of the top restaurants I have ever eaten at, including restaurants in Roslyn and NYC. We were so stuffed when we left the restaurant, we had to be rolled out the door. I have no idea why anyone would give this restaurant 1 star, except that maybe the reviewer is an entitled millennial with a chip on his shoulder or perhaps he owns a competing restaurant. Great experience! I would go again for another special occasion!!

Truly remarkable experience. The food, ambiance, staff, from beginning to end were exceptional. As a regular at 2 Spring, we were very excited to try 4, and it surpassed all expectations.
