Im from Ohio and was visiting Chicago for the weekend and had to cross this off the bucket list. It definitely lived up to the hype for me! The beef sandwich was tender and juicy! Sausage was packed with flavor! Add the two and get it dipped…MAGICAL! I also had to try a Chicago dog. Nice snap to the dog and all the flavors together did a dance on the taste buds. Wish we had one in Cleveland,Ohio!!!

My wife ordered an ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICH with giardiniera and it was great as well as the chicken salad.

So I’m just gonna be honest the hot dogs are not that big of a deal! if you’ve ever been to racetrack, their hot dogs taste way better. The chili cheese had no flavor and the Chicago dog. I mean, you can’t go wrong with mustard and peppers. it just wasn’t the best. Now what I can say is, they can fry an onion ring. Those onion rings and the strawberry malt milkshake was amazing. It tasted so good. It was so creamy and those onion rings with that honey mustard ooohhh was great but the hotdog I feel like I could’ve boiled a better hotdog at home.

I went through the drive through which I regretted. The way it wraps around the building I couldn’t tell the live was as long as it was. I almost always go inside to order for take out. That said, the did was good. I ordered cheese fries which I enjoy and a hotdog with everything and a Maxwell polish. Delicious.

Run, don’t walk to Portillo’s! As a first time visitors of Chicago, this place was recommended to me a bunch. It was my last stop before I headed back home & I was not disappointed. The staff & service was AH-MAZING! Paul even gave me a free slice of their signature chocolate cake to try & it was delicious! 10/10 highly recommend.

Great experience the people are nice the area looks clean atmosphere is awesome the food is great. How to security guard on duty really good guy. I got the sandwiches they got the hot dogs and low-key their barbecue is on point. The most of all it is a reasonable price.

I love Portillo’s and have had for years before they made the food more accessible to people outside of Chicago. We arrived from a week away on a Saturday evening to this Portillo’s and I was really blown away by the elevated customer service that Alexis (cashier) provided. I am a regional manager of Humans and I LOVE sharing examples of elevated service I experience in the wild. This will be brought up in the meetings I have this upcoming week.

Just left with my togo order. Fries are wimpy and over cooked not crispy and my greek salad is missing the feta cheese, honestly it’s why I get this salad. This salad is so sad, its so bitter and the leaves do not taste good.

17 min for 2 veddie dogs and a cheese fry. I had to ask about my order the employee was slightly annoyed. I asked at the 15 min. mark. They said we are making the other hot dog. It took 2 more min. And I got my order. I walked to my car and opened the first hotdogs 4 min after I received it. It was cold. The other one was plenty warm. I think they made one and had to wait for the second. It was not good cold. They did give me a large fry instead of a small one, which was nice, but i really just wanted 2 good temp, hot dog with a small fry in a reasonable amount of time
Tried again in 2025 one veggie dog and a large fry. 20 min wait. It was not busy at all. If veggie dog take this long I suggest you let people know when they order.
