This neighborhood joint is awesome. Our favorite Chinese food takeout in Portland. We typically order one of the chef-recommended chicken dishes, a noodle dish, fried dumplings, and a few egg rolls. Always delicious and enough for left overs! The owner takes the time to chat while ringing us out— Fortune Garden is a treat.

When you walk into the place it does not give the appearance that your meal will be the best Chinese food in Portland!! Have order from there four times with each order being a wonderful delicious meal made just as we ordered!

FIRST TIME! LAST TIME! Not impressed at all and won’t go back or recommend to others. Last night, I called to place a order and the guy who answered the phone was kinda rude. He had very little patience with me explaining what I’d like to order and what comes with my order. He said, “Why don’t you just come to the restaurant and check out the menu and then order?”! I felt like telling him… how about you calm down and take a few extra minutes to explain your meals to me. Anyways, I go to pick up my food (2 combination plates of chicken & mixed vegetables and chicken fingers) and I asked for extra duck sauce and he had attitude about that and I left. I get the food home and it just wasn’t good. Chicken texture was gross and way too salty. We didn’t even eat the chicken and threw most of it away. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back there again.

Got a pupu platter for two and only got two chicken wings total their beef are pork ribs on a stick and it doesn’t come with any rice I gave one stars because their egg rolls are good and the fried Peking dumplings I ordered on the side where good I wouldn’t go there again 4 thumbs down

Amazing food, so far the best Asian food I’ve eaten in Maine after trying like 10 different places. Fried rice is really good and filling and they give you a huge portion enough for 2 people or even 3 if you’re light eaters. The egg rolls are also huge and delicious and the meals are big portions and have a good variety of options. Staff is very nice as well

Crab rangoons look like a bite away from food poisoning..one taste gagged.$50 dollar order fried rice was white.$10 delivery fee with rude assistance…. China Villa is the only way to go..this place must be doing side business to still be in business..so upset..3rd strike and now never again and niw I’m sick

They did not take contactless payment because is was “risky”. My son got the beef fried rice, it was questionable. I got the veggie lo mein. Never EVER order the veggie lo mein. Big mistake. It tasted like old cabbage. The to go was packed wrong so everything leaked out of the bag, into my car, all over my coat and my white dinning chair. I am $50 out, hungry and sad. I never ever leave bad reviews, but this one was wicked bad.

Fortune Garden is my favorite Chinese restaurant by far. I’ve been going there for years and their food is consistently delicious and fresh. Their prices are fair and I love the dinner combo! Those rangoons The employees are always friendly and greet you with a smile. 10/10 – I never get photos because I’m too excited to dive in
