This place is a bad joke. It’s never open as posted on their own sign. No signs saying why or how long they are closed or when they’ll be reopening or moving or death in the family, nothing. Not even updates on their FB page. They did at one time, then nothing. Hey if you want to drive to the outskirts of Huntsville to just turn around and go back, you’ll love this place. It’s like some of the other local BBQ joints in this area. They talk a big game but can’t produce. I’ll never try this place again, whether it’s good or not doesn’t matter if they are never open or prepared. Too many other options. Better yet go buy a smoker, a book on smoking and go to Gordon’s for your meat and make your own. That’s what I’m going to do because these places are just not serious about business if they were they wouldn’t disrespect or disregard customers like they do. Let them totally close down, it won’t be any mystery why.

Quality, value and tradition are the words that best express Floyd’s! They serve solid ‘que at great prices that will satisfy your hunger and soul. The ribs are outstanding! Tender, juicy and full of that nostalgic flavor that brings to mind summer cook-outs at that certain person’s house everyone wanted to be invited to. Green beans are well seasoned and a touch spicy. Pork sandwich is solid with a juicy sauce that makes the bun mushy… just like I like it! It’s no wonder they’ve been open forever!

I am new to the Huntsville area and drove over 8 miles to try this barbecue ON Thursday, June 29, 2023…However, I was totally, totally disappointed. I was told that “WE DON’T HAVE ANY RIBS PREPARED YET, … they should be ready in maybe an hour”…and it was already almost 1 o’clock in the day!

I love Floyd’s! A true country man that can cook comfort southern food. Everything is on point! My favorite is the half chicken!! But today I had the chopped chicken topped with Cole slaw and white sauce. My fiancee is new to the Ville he ordered the large rib plate with fried okra btw off the chain, and corn!! He absolutely loved the ribs. When you are in the mood for good BBQ Floyd’s is the spot. Nothing like a lil hole in the spot with great food.

The best bbq and smoked food I have ever ate. Everything is home made with a good variety. Even if he raised his prices to adjust for inflation, no place can match his prices. Very good portions. I ate on it for 2 days!

Follow Dreatravel Lifestyle Media on YouTube! Get to Floyd’s early if you want to try everything. I enjoy the ribs (my go to) slathered up in red sauce mixed with white sauce. The macaroni is the better recipe out of other places in the city. They add a lot of black pepper and cheese. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sometimes, chef is back there heavy handed with the seasoning for the French fries but eating them with ketchup and the rest of your food will take care of that. If you like broccoli casserole it’s here too.
