Came on a whim with my boyfriend on our day off. The place was pretty empty but the music and atmosphere was still really incredible. We’re local so it’s hard to expect much of tourist-y areas but this restaurant far exceeded my expectations. You get a TON of food for the cost and our server Xomira was FABULOUS. She was attentive and friendly but not overbearing which is awesome because we were able to have conversation and enjoy our time together. Definitely going to come back for drinks and vibes.

My family and I were in town for a few days and decided to try el Jefe hoping to have a “good” meal in Orlando. We enjoyed every single item we tried and had a “fantastico” meal. With a family of six and some picky, we ordered several appetizers and full meals. The guacamole and queso fundido were perfect and the tacos were wonderful! A few of us had the margaritas and those were excellent too! We will definitely eat at el jefe every time we visit Orlando. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!

I decided to try this place out for my 31st birthday. My boyfriend and I were visiting from Atlanta, GA. I decided on this place based on the many good reviews I saw. I was a little disappointed when we got there at 9:30 pm because the hostess let us know the kitchen was closing at 10pm. I commented that Google says 2 am, and she let me know that the bar closes at 2 am and chips are available but the kitchen closes at 10 pm. I told her they should change that or make it more clear. However, our sever was polite and the restaurant was decorated nicely for Valentine’s Day. I ordered chips and salsa to start and a side of guac. The chips tasted a bit old and the salsa was kind of bland. It tasted fresh, but not like they seasoned it at all. The guac was delicious! I also ordered the enchiladas with street corn and rice. The enchilada was just okay. Not bad and not exceptional. Either the rice or corn was SO salty. Too salty for me to really enjoy it. My boyfriend got fajitas that he also said were just okay. I didn’t have a bad experience, just an okay one.

Nice vibe, really friendly and helpful staff and the food was great – lots of authentic Mexican dishes that you would find in a restaurant in Mexico. The guac starter was really tasty and the steak and mushroom stack was really nice! The Molcajete bowl was huge and so flavourful too!

Not a family friendly location was pretty much kicked out because they do not allow strollers in the restaurant. Been there plenty of times before having my child but after this they have lost me as a customer. Ford’s garage across the street was happy to take care of us and our new born in the stoller. Please avoid this place if you are family oriented since clearly they are not.
