Food was excellent! The burritos were perfectly sized- not huge, but not too small either. The tacos were fantastic- especially the fried avocado taco. Three tacos is good for a decent sized meal; if you eat larger portions, maybe go for four.

We sat outside on the comfortably shaded, private patio. Our server Chelsea was very personable, high energy, and knowledgeable regarding menu items and specials. Our chicken nachos were unbelievable, as were the margaritas made by Monica! Great prices and good vibes

We had a party of 15. They were short a server but had called in help. The staff on duty worked diligently to see that everyone got taken care of and were very nice. Our waitress was handling our large party and several other tables and did and great job and was just as nice as she could be.

Stood around for 15 minutes trying to get someone’s attention to get one of the many open tables. Not a single person greeted us. It was a Wednesday night and we were the only people waiting. Had several servers including the bartender make direct eye contact with us and never came over so we left.

Good food, not exceptional. Cost is on the higher side. Dessert is expensive(3 donuts are $6) I tried the chopped brisket sandwich as my main meal. Decent flavor but nothing to right home about. Cost of chopped brisket meal, which included a drink and a side(I tried their fries) is $15.25. Service was alright but not exceptional. Sat without a refill on my Arnold Palmer (sweet tea and lemonade mixed) for 10+ minutes while the waitress came by and brought my dessert out but no refill. Not a terrible experience but definitely not the Wow service and food experience I was hoping for.

I really liked El Jefe and I’m sure it will become a regular spot. The prices are fair and the food is really good. I liked the selection of all the different tacos. The three tacos I ordered we’re the steak, shrimp, and chicken. I took off the lettuce and sour creme but you may want to keep it. The steak taco has a lot of meat and was really delicious. The shrimp was a close second, but they skimped with the shrimp. We also had chips and salsa. The salsa was thick and smooth, but not as spicy as I like. Not to fear since they have a bunch of hot sauces on the table including Tabasco.

Really good place to come and grab drinks and chips and dip. They also have a great full menu from tacos to BBQ. Service was not bad and the staff was friendly. This place is very clean, and it’s cool how El Jefe is part of West Salem BBQ. It’s the best of both worlds! Love y’all

Atmosphere is a strong 4. Food is a strong 4. Service was a strong 4. It was Taco Tuesday so we did the buy two get one free tacos. We each tried 3 different tacos. We were not disappointed in any of the 6 tacos. Definitely try the catfish taco if you like catfish. We ordered chips n salsa, the salsa was great with fresh herbs and chunks of fresh vegetables. They have two sauce options on the table to kick it up. The green is a touch of heat and sweet. The orange is delicious, but a real heater. We had the chili con queso dip, it was okay. The only thing that was not as good on the food score as everything else. It needed seasoning. The $5 dollar happy hour house margarita tastes great and is a good value. I will definitely be returning.

Food was decent, but the service was terrible. I sat at the bar and there was almost never anyone behind the bar to serve me. If you don’t want to spend an hour and a half to eat 3 tacos, go somewhere else
