Dutch Pot Restaurant – Pembroke Pines

  4.2 – 2 reviews  $ • Jamaican restaurant

Having a Dutch pot is a staple and part of the Jamaican culture. The Dutch Pot dates back to the Iron-Age. This was when man was experimenting in casting iron and creating all kinds of vessels, for a variety of reasons. The Dutch Pot is the only way to do authentic Jamaican cooking. It is because of The Dutch Pot that the heat and temperature is always consistent. This causes the food to cook evenly and not burn, which is why our food is always so delicious!

This is the spot for good Jamaican food (in my opinion). The servings are very good and tasty food. I go 4 times a week and i can say I have never had a problem.

Honestly, I don’t understand how the fried chicken is made here but I used to come to Dutch pot very frequently and now I do not, every time I come here the fried chicken is old and dry , I’m not sure if it’s made the night before or left under a warmer for hours on end but it’s never fresh and never edible, this is a problem that needs to be fixed because I went in yesterday and my chicken was in the worst shape I could not eat it and was left with a drumstick (was dry not old) this is honestly ridiculous and embarrassing!!!this is the quality that staff is serving people to eat. Food is not fresh at all!

For a Jamaican restaurant the chicken soup was really bad!! It’s basically broth!! Never ordering soup here of any kind…. The soup needs food it was just Irish, chicken and water basically. I expected better!!

I ordered the mac and cheese in the drive- thru. When I arrived, the drive-thru wasn’t that crowded. However, it took quite some time for me to finally reach the drive-thu window. The girl at the window was pleasant enough. When I got the mac and cheese home, it looked absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t wait to dig in. What a letdown! It lacked flavor. I was very disappointed . I ordered this dish last year, and it tasted good. Not sure if they changed the recipe, but it wasn’t tasty. I won’t order again

The food is good. However These people take over 40 minutes in the drive-thru. You’re better off going to Donna’s paying a few dollars more and getting your food much faster.

Had the peanut porridge. Delicious. Really do not buy Jamaican food as I cook my own but their curried goat and oxtail is great. The young man from St. Elizabeth that took the order was so pleasant and the cashier was just as awesome. Totally enjoyed my visit and food. Pines Blvd location.
