I love coming here! It’s historic and the atmosphere is very homey. The staff is always kind and spend time to talk to you. The food is delicious and fresh. I had the Tuna Melt and it was a whole tuna steak that was cooked perfect. Definitely worth the drive to come out and have the food! We really enjoyed it.

Absolutely amazing food for the prices! We traveled a few hours away for a small getaway weekend and stopped here for dinner one night. Everyone was very friendly, waitress’ were very attentive, one recommended the southern egg rolls and WOW they were good! We got burgers and a salad and everything was SOOOOO Yummy!! Very good food, big portions, and the bill was cheaper than we had thought it was going to be! Definitely will eat here again if we come back near the area!

Pros: Not crowded, and the AC was pumping. The Mac and cheese Southern egg roll appetizer was awesome! The portions are huge. The club wrap had a lot of bacon, and I could only eat half. Same for my partner. He enjoyed half of his fried green tomato sandwich. The tall beer mug height is about two hands tall.
Cons: Only one person was waiting tables, and the cook was about to clock out but had to stay to fix our food instead because her backup hadn’t arrived yet. Dirty dishes were on all the tables other than where we sat. Children ended up cleaning up the dirty dishes well after we’d been there.

For the area this is in the food was pretty good; the atmosphere was nice and the service was spot on. We had great company for dinner with his evening so that made the night perfect. The waitress was very attentive and very good at what she does.
For dinner we had the ribs, Asian dish, beer, wine, cocktail, salad, and the combo appetizer. Yummy!!!
We would definitely recommend and will be back when in the area again.

I discovered this hidden gem while working in Brookneal on a project. It was love at first bite! The food and atmosphere was so good that I ate there every day we were in town, 8 days total, and EVERYTHING was delicious.
The food is made with fresh high quality ingredients, flavorful sauces & spices, & cooked with love. If you have a few people you Have To try the Southern Fried Egg Rolls! Their Mac n cheese is made with a homemade Bechamel sauce that is incredible. The smoked brisket and pork bbq was delicious and tender, the fried fish sandwich has a breading that’s incredible- some of the juiciest most tender fish I’ve ever had. I also recommend the honey garlic smoked chicken wings and the fried green tomatoes are a treat you can’t get often. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is great! I had the BBQ Smokehouse Burger with sweet potato fries. Both were delicious! The fries were crispy on the outside with a sweet & savory seasoning. The burger melts in your mouth! Highly recommended.

I just moved to the area read the reviews so thought I would check it out..what a disappointment…place was not busy the service was lousy..the food was at best a 2…shrimp skewers were served cold..wings were cold and slimey…the pic I added sat in front of me for over a half hour after I finished eating…again they were 3 other patrons there…I believe in 2nd chances so I will give it another try…maybe

Order the loaded onion rings and forget the rest! I had their brisket at the annual Blues, Brews, & BBQ festival, and it was pretty tasty too. But nothing compares to their onion rings covered in cheese and a whole sandwich worth of barbeque on top! Dip it in that ranch, and you might just slap ya mama! When we float Long Island to Brookneal, we always try to get off the river in time to make the cutoff at DSG. And these onion rings definitely make it worth it!
