First visit. Some of the wait staff seemed confused who was sitting where and how long they had been waiting. Got the captains platter and a additional order of onion’s rings which were over cooked on the outside, stuck together and raw batter on the inside. Fries were the seasoned ones.. plain regular fries are a better match to seafood. Scallops were few and on the small side. The clams were clumped with batter and the was no sense/taste of clams. The fried shrimp were excellent. The view represented online is of water full of boats… in reality it is a dirt parking lot/dry dock area.

Came down from Middletown on a random Monday evening because we didn’t feel like cooking and were craving some lobster rolls – pleasantly surprised and have to say it’s some of the best lobster rolls we’ve ever had and we grew up in CT! They give a VERY generous amount of lobster and butter and super reasonably priced – might be the cheapest one in the area at $25! I also had the lobster bisque and it was delicious, with large chunks of lobster in it!

Randomly picked this place for a group of people. One was in a wheelchair and when coming up the ramp it was blocked by chairs at the top. So I had to get rid of four chairs to actually get into the place, but someone did come out to help me since we came on a very windy day. Came in and the place had nice ambiance. Had no problem sitting 6 people. Wait staff was pleasant. Meal was tasty and we were asked many times it we liked everything and or needed anything. Prices was a little high but we enjoyed ourselves. The place was a little difficult to find but other than that we really didn’t have anything negative to say.

I love going to restaurants near the water in the summer and this place was one I had yet to visit. The river views from the deck were great. The food was subpar and I I wouldn’t recommend ordering any dish over $15 or $20 as it’s just not their sweet spot. This is more like a fish-n-chips joint, so I would I head in with that understanding. If you order the calamari and you’ve had some great versions of this at other restaurants, you’re going to be disappointed here. It’s all fried breading with little calamari. So, go in with lowered expectations and you’ll be fine. I would return again.

Casual grill overlooking the marina and water. Lovely deck and very friendly servers. I wasn’t entirely wild about my salmon but would go back for the bisque and try something else next time.

Love jumping on the bike for a flavorful lunch at Dockside. Karen and the staff make you feel like family. My personal favorite is the shrimp scampi over rice. So delicious and refreshing. Highly recommend visiting Dockside!

A very nice casual place with great views. The service friendly and fast. Any seat at this place as a great view of the boat yard and water. The lobster bisque and onion rings were our favorite. I thought it was reasonable price.

Underwhelmed is the only word that comes to mind for our experience at the Dockside. The view is lovely. The food was o.k. Though nearly everything is fried and even the broiled fish sandwich was oily. The fries are frozen starch sprayed run of the mill. In town on a day trip, we’re regret making the Dockside the one restaurant we stopped at as it did not enhance our experience of this otherwise lovely little slice of New England.
