It’s a Friday night back again for the spicy burger with bacon! The first time i was here has the wings does a rate for one day at a burger fell in love. “Diversity”Rude Boy Ruddy on the Mic, DJ Twiz on the one and two, so you know it’s a grate vibe.

As I was on the highway, I googled soul food restaurants near me, and this place happened to pop up. It’s definitely a place not on my regular route home. It’s a small spot with limited parking on the street. It’s better to call in your order over the phone. It takes time for them to cook it with a wait time of 10-15 minutes, and that’s with it being empty. The staff was friendly. The Pork Chops are DELICIOUS! It’s seasoned well, and one of the best I’ve tasted so far. The Fried Fish is okay. You can add on Ribs at $2.50 each. They don’t fall off the bone, but it was flavorful. The Mac & Cheese is okay, but doesn’t taste like it was made from scratch. Overall, not bad.

Wanted some soul food and found this place. Great customer service and conversation and when I say the BEST not family cooked oxtails rice and peas I’m serious. Then the Mac and cheese and collard greens I had the idis.

Place is just straight sweet and simple. Good consistent food at a great price. They offer weekly meal plans and more so it’s a little more interesting then your average restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Also have ordered via UberEats and it delivers well. I would absolutely recommend to others specifically for lunch.

Jerk chicken lacked flavor, skin was soggy. Corn bread pretty good as well as the rice and peas. The Mac and cheese wasn’t the worst but also wasn’t the best. Good french fries

visited this place on my lunch break & it was just what I needed. I had the bbq glazed fried chicken w mac&cheese cabbage and cornbread. the chicken & cabbage was made damn near excellent .. don’t let me get into the cornbread. I wish I knew it was going to be like that. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the mac but it was doing what it needed to for me. the owner is really warm & welcoming. would definitely recommend

Definitely want to listen to the reviews when they say that the food is mediocre at best, wish I read them before arriving. Not worth it for a $20 plate. Chicken wings were alright. yams are okay.. tasted bitter like they were slightly spoiled and the Mac and cheese don’t even get me started. How can you call yourself a soul food restaurant with terrible Mac and cheese?! Noodles were too soft, cheese smelled processed, it was barely baked. Left basically the whole plate. I lost my appetite & didn’t even bother with the cornbread.. wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 80¢ jiffy’s. It’s very obvious who this establishment caters to, bc the food is whack! So hard to find good soul food upstate.

Gonna be real honest this restaurant isn’t bad as far as rice, chicken, salmon, and cornbread this restaurant is a star. But the Mac n Cheese is absolutely positively disgraceful as a fellow Haitian it’s literally disappointing how that Mac n cheese taste. Only reason I mention this is b/c Mac n cheese is an essential part of soul food. For your Mac n cheese to lack all your other dishes must be exceptional and they aren’t they are just good. The powef/attraction of the restaurant doesn’t come from the food but the design and the energy the owner (diddy) displays. He incorporates his daring smile into the restaurant which helps it feels homey and even glow @ night. Without him I firmly believe nobody would even think to go here especially in a town like Suffern. 3/5 cause the food is good but nothing like the Haitian cuisine you can eat in the city or even spring valley.

Jerk chicken was recommended by the employee. He said it was fire, as a Caribbean who knows his jerk, this was subpar. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for soul food, maybe in Suffern, but if you’ve had real soul food this place wouldn’t do the job.
