Dickey’s Barbecue Pit located in Plano, Texas is a fair restaurant. We had a long day so we placed our order to be delivered. The ordering process was easy enough. The delivery was very prompt. The food at the beginning was good then we discovered a lot of fat on our pulled pork. We understand that it has fat but we have never seen this much fat on pulled pork from any Dickey’s BBQ in the past from any location. See the pictures that we provided. We will try another location in the future but not any time soon.

Best service at a BBQ restaurant Chef Manuel and his Sunday crew were attentive, thorough, and super friendly. If we weren’t picking up a bug yellow box for a family event, we would have stayed just to be in their presence. Food options are ah-mazing and there were delicious items for vegetarian diets. Thank you for making our family function a success, Manuel! We will be back.

I went in to get food after a long day of not feeling well. Julio immediately welcomed me with a smile, a greeting, and gave me the best service. He had no idea that I was sick but he lifted me up with such kind words. His service was excellent and I will go back over and over again.

Stopped by Dickey”s on July 6 for lunch. I’m not one to complain about Dickey’s but this was not a good experience. (1) My loaded baked potato was not even warm. (2) Ice cream machine was broken, (3) drink machine was being repaired by a technician. (4) Air Conditioner was not working. It was over 80 degrees in the dining room. (4) The brisket was OK. I do love the “hot” BBQ sauce. Not a pleasant experience. You are suppose to enjoy a lunch !

I’ve eaten here once a week for the last several years. Quality is consistent and the the staff has worked there for a long time. Brisket is tender and the other meats are not overcooked. I would highly recommend them.

Was looking forward to enjoying some BBQ for an early dinner. We drove to this location because a previous Plano location visit was disappointing. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy, we ordered/received our food and when it came to the drinks we saw a stack of foam cups. When we asked the young lady at the counter where the yellow cups were, she responded that the restaurant charges $3.00 for the yellow cups and asked if we wanted one? We said no as our meal was already at $11.99 per person for a sandwich and (1) side and a drink (that should have been served in a yellow cup). What made it frustrating was that the customer behind me also asked about the yellow cup and was given the same response about price. After her refusal to take/pay for it, the lady at the counter gave in and said, go ahead and have it, the customer then replied with, “Are you sure?”…I was within arms length of the customer behind me as I was waiting for tea, since the tea container was empty. When the young lady returned with filling my foam cup with tea, it was completely watered down with no flavor at all. When I went to the drink machine to try something else, there were only a few selections of soda flavors and each of those were also watered down. I suppose they weren’t putting in the needed syrup to get the right consistency. I get it, places are hurting and people cut corners to save here and there, but when I choose to take my family out to eat and spend my hard earned money, I expect to have a good quality meal and drink.

There was no 799 special as advertised. The 999 chicken on the outside sign was 1199. The staff did not make eye contact and spoke to me as they looked somewhere else. The brisket was dry.

Good brisket, but it was the only good thing. The restaurant was dirty, old and dingy (I went there 20+ years ago and never changed). The food was quite expensive. The lunch special was the same price of the regular dinner price. The owner was dishonest. The register prices were higher than on the board. The owner said that the register changed the higher prices and forgot to update the board. He gave 3 dollars, but kept my receipt! I noticed that the corporate Dickey’s Barbecue Pit website no longer shows this location. I wonder why.

Pricey, but considering it was enough for a second meal, very good. Hot BBQ sauce was thin, but mixed it with regular or sweet and it was good. Free ice cream.

Loved coming here for lunch. Some of my coworkers recommended this place. I know its a big chain but when in Texas you got to try Dickeys. They had a great Wednesday special for 9.99 that includes sausage and chicken with 2 sides. BBQ here is a mix between dry and really saucy. They have a pickle and sauce station. The meats were tender and moist. Sides themselves you can tell we’re freshly made and not refrigerated. I opted for the Mac n cheese and spinach sides. Both were creamy and tasted really good. They do have an unlimited ice cream station. If your looking for good BBQ and quick service this is the spot. This specific location is a 5 min walk from historic Plano district. Plenty of shops, small boutiques and cafes around. They have plenty of parking and seating for large parties.
