Love this hole in the wall bar! Feels a tad bit like stepping back in time but also among very diverse modern clientele! I got drunk last night and kept calling it “Dave’s old time wagon train tavern” they should definitely rename it that great place for cheap beer and good times!

So I’ll give it 5 stars cause the cider was good and the staff- shout out to Mike in the tiger/roses…not sure what to call it- was awesome! A good friend just had a bartender here steal $60 from her by turning her $15 tip into a $75 one. He was rude to her on top of that, and I guess he felt entitled to steal from her because he was having a rough night. Given the other reviews, intentional overcharging seems to be a repeat issue. My friend is filing a fraud claim with her bank in hopes of getting her money refunded. Be careful and check your card statements after going to Dave’s, because you’ll have no idea if they altered the tip amount until after the charge comes through.

This is a great pregame bar. The drinks are super cheap and actually really good!! We had vegas bombs and also green tea shots. We go across the street to the hookah bar and then come here for some shots in between. Great atmosphere and they also have scratch off machines!

The managers are literally insane. Grabbed my beer from my hand and threw it on the ground because when I used the trashcan I noticed the wall behind it was a curtain. I guess they thought I was going to steal a pallet of hot beer in front of the whole bar? They kicked me out and threatened me, made me pay for the beer the manager threw away

One of the top 10 dive bars in KC. Small, dingy, quiet. 1 pool table in a cramped space. Good jukebox. Older local regs during the day and younger crowd at night. Has a nice smoking patio in back. Has dedicated off street parking.
