TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Worst service ever. I usually love Dave’s hot chicken but today my experience was awful. I placed the order online and estimated wait time was 10 mins. I put in order ahead of time and still I had to wait 25 mins for my order. On top of that when I finally received my order and checked the bag it was missing fries.

I don’t know where to start if I’m going to be honest, from the beginning the service was amazing to the end where the food was more than satisfying, but the in between is the most important. Brianna, I believe that’s her name, was delightful and helpful with explaining the options on the menu. After I ordered, I picked up my food (around 15-20 mins) she then met me again and packaged my food and offered many condiments. At the end, the things I remember are the food and her service; both outstanding.

I ordered medium spicy sliders, and they were so good. The chicken was very tender and juicy, and the spice on the breading had a nice warm taste and flavor. The sauce complimented the flavor perfectly, and the kale cooled it down slightly with some good crunch. The bread is very soft and fits the overall presentation.
