When you are in the Finger Lakes and have a craving for Austrian or German style food, make your way here. This is an excellent restaurant to get your grub on. Their schnitzel and red cabbage is amazing. They have a charcuterie board to die for. Apple streusel is a must. The wine list is as if you were in a winery on the Danube. Get here for the sunsets, get a glass of Riesling, and relax and enjoy.

Drove here for 40 minutes from Ithaca on a Saturday lunch with my friends. The exterior of the restaurant gave me a very good first impression, especially the entrance and we got the outdoor seats. The staffs were effectively fast response and super friendly also they gave us a heads up that the offered menu is authentic Austrian food which was why we went to Dano’s in the first place! The foods were all delicious, I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel – the taste was super clean and the hint of salt on top of the crunch enhanced the flavor even more. My side dishes were Spätzle, a small noodle with eggs which was okay so I saved it with a bit of salt and pepper, and seasonal veggies to supply my daily intake of vegetables. The vibe was super nice as we could see the beautiful Seneca Lake from the outdoor 🙂

A truly excellent and unique restaurant, the best dining experience I have had in a long time. The food was fantastic and the outdoor seating very comfortable and beautiful. I recommend the Viennese bento box, it offers the opportunity to try many dishes and flavors, and the portions are generous. Returning to Dano’s will be the top of my list when I am back in the area.

Karen and her team were a dream to work with for our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Dano’s pre-set family style menu was all delicious and her team made it really easy for our guests for be served both food and drinks throughout the night. The restaurant and grounds are beautiful and we got to enjoy a really stunning sunset over the lake from the lawn. Can’t recommend Dano’s enough for your next party or gathering, or just for dinner!

The beef goulash is some of the best you’ll find in America. The Hungarian sausage and various spreads we’re great appetizers. We got the goulash and wiener schnitzel and could not have been happier. Philip was a great server too!

We chose to take our family, who is visiting from Germany, to Dano’s. Although the food was superb, the views spectacular and the waitress very attentive, the hostess seemed rude and unwelcoming.

Our schedule didn’t allow us to get to Dano’s for a while and we are so happy to make it there tonight. The authentic Austrian food is expertly prepared and very approachable to all palates. Our server Ryan was entertaining and spot on with recommendations. From the Austrian spreads to the entrees and desserts everything was superb!

Strongly recommend a reservation although our group of 4 were lucky enough to be seated. Highly recommend the bread basket + spreads/salads. The Farmer’s Plate sounded better than it was (the pork belly was more like hard fat, too much sauerkraut for my taste). They ask you put all your food orders in at once and service gets a little slow once the place fills up. On the lower level half the table will have the sun in their eyes. Overall good food and atmosphere.

This was our first time here as we were on vacation and it was a true experience. The food was extremely fresh and made as ordered. The waiter we had was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and beverage pairings. All of the dishes were bursting with authentic and complex flavors that built with each layer. The farmers plate came with a mustard on the side that is made in house, the waiter explained that you only received a small amount by design as it packs a punch, 100% on point! Not that it was spicy, but that with its profile you really only needed a dab. We also ordered the wienerschnitzel, it came out perfectly seasoned, the meat was tender, and breading crisp. For dessert we had the apple strudel, it was flakey and delicious. We will most certainly return when we’re in the area again!

Amazing lunch! We got lucky because we didn’t make reservations ahead of time (we just happened to be in the area) and they graciously made room for us on the outside patio. The food is incredible and the folks who work there are very nice and accommodating. One of the best meal experiences we’ve had.
