For those searching for a traditional small town feel, the Danish Bakery is the place to be. Thursday is pizza day. Their pizzas are delicious and deep with toppings. You better call for a reservation ahead of time, though. They make pizzas all day!

This is one place you must visit if you’re ever in the Grand Island area. Located 20 miles northwest of G.I. in the Danish Capitol of Nebraska, Dannebrog. They make everything fresh with no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Pizza on Thursdays if I remember correctly and the best breads, cookies and kolaches I’ve ever had. I’m from Omaha and had to stop in G.I. and decided to take a little trip to the Danish Baker for some delicious treats that I haven’t had in probably 6 years and they did not disappoint, same as I remember! So do yourself a favor and head to Dannebrog NE for the best pastries and pizza you will ever have, you WILL thank me!!

Stopped here on the Nebraska Junk Jaunt 2022 for a slice of Sauerkraut and Sausage pizza (they had more “normal” flavors too). Toppings must have been nearly 2 inches and it was delicious. Also bought their cinnamon rolls and I’m glad I got the four pack because they were the best I’ve had in a long time with delicious cream cheese frosting. My friend bought blueberry sourdough bread. If it wasn’t almost 500 miles away from where I live I’d be there often!

It is the best pizza place. A large Supreme pizza weighs about 7 lb. The only bad thing about it is it only on Thursday night for pizza they do sell other things. Lunch menu all week long. They also have a lot of different Goods I new items a lot you can also use one of their bikes to ride bike trail
