Thursday night pizza at the Danish Bakery is the place to be! The pizzas are hearty, piled high with toppings, and the cheese pull is perfection. It’s a very small shop with only about 25 seats (plus a small table outside), so call ahead if you want to dine in. We watched the staff go out of their way to accommodate walk-ins even though seating was tight, and they stayed friendly and welcoming throughout.
Beyond the pizza, the bakery wall is incredible—overflowing with breads, cookies, kolaches, and more. It was being refilled multiple times while we ate because so many people came in carrying out armfuls of treats. A true small-town gem!

My wife got the “green goddess” sandwich and I got the Italian. Both were delicious! This place is definitely worth stopping for lunch… or dinner! And the owners and other staff seemed very happy to work there and serve us. Everyone was friendly and happy. Friendly, affordable and delicious!

We visited the Danish Bakery a couple of years ago. The food was good but the inside looked like something out of the ‘50s. Last Thursday, I went in to get a snitch (that’s great food that you don’t exactly need) and voila, the place was totally revamped. I got cherry rolls that were to die for with cream cheese icing. You ain’t gonna get that at Hy Vee. They were just what the doctor ordered.

During our visit to the Danish Bakery we tried the oinker (with jalapenos added), grilled cheese and a BLT. All 3 sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is casual and laid back as is the service. I realize some people feel a need to be doted on but I personally prefer having an opportunity to enjoy my meal and visit so this was perfect in my opinion. Also, our orders were served quickly. Staff were friendly. The small dining area was clean, the menu straight forward and accurately descriptive. We enjoyed our trip to the Danish Bakery and look forward to going again.

For those searching for a traditional small town feel, the Danish Bakery is the place to be. Thursday is pizza day. Their pizzas are delicious and deep with toppings. You better call for a reservation ahead of time, though. They make pizzas all day!

I was scrambling to get here before close and my truck decided it was time to act up. Made a call and told them I might be after closing. “Let me check with the girls but I’m pretty sure we can help” I’ve lived in Howard Co for 7 years now and I’m severely disappointed that I’ve never visited this business until today. Such great ppl!!!
