I am a fan of buryani and know very well how it should taste like. This one is not the best. Actually, bad. Very wet, no sauce. Almost room temperature food! The raisin was hard as a rock. Extra star for clean seat.

This lamb!!! Wow. So tender and flavourful. Some of the top biryani I have had anywhere in the world. The flavours and textures here are amazing: caramelized onions, Whole cardamom pods, raisins, cinnamon sticks, absolutely fantastic. This fresh butter naan is also insanely good. Second time visiting, I’ve ordered the chicken curries to round out the meal (tikka masala and butter chicken) and they are solid, but not outstanding like the lamb and biryani. Mostly they are good as a dip for this delicious naan. Dine in recommended, the staff take their time but there is love in this food. Need to go back to try the pizza— if the dough is the same as their naan, it’s going to be amazing!

The worst Indian food I have ever had. I don’t write reviews usually if I would just say something negative but I think people should be warned. Yellow curry tasted weird, chicken was a bit undercooked, mv korma had no nuts or anything that usually comes with it. Garlic naan- no garlic we could tell. Ice water – ice melted instantly so wasn’t chilled. Rice didn’t come with it, have to order separately which I have never heard of. Cans of soda were room temp, so had to ask for glasses of ice. Server was grumpy even before we asked for ice. Was not cheap, either. August 2023.

Amazing lamb curry! Very tender and flavorful. I ordered mild. It’s the perfect level of spiciness for me.

Service was poor. The paneer tikka masala was bland. The cheese naan was very greasy and lacked cheese. I definitely got diarrhea the next morning after ordering dinner to go. Please do not go here. There’s no need to wonder why it’s always empty.

The Man and I came here to try out a different Indian joint in the neighborhood (we are regulars at royal Indian) and I have to say, this place is a new curry contender. We got spicy lamb roganjosh (could’ve been spicier) and it was delicious- the flavors were spot on and you could taste each aromatic component of the dish- I was eating around whole cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, and cloves which says a lot about the curry bases not being overly-puréed freezer bases. The lamb was fresh and tender as well, not chewy or tough. We ordered garlic naan that was soft and had nice flavors of fresh coriander on top.

I should have read the reviews and known better when I saw it was empty on a busy Saturday night on Divisadero. The staff was nice, no issues there. The curry had very little spice and tasted like canned tomato paste lid. The naan and palak paneer was good so I’m not all mad but doubt I’ll be back.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It may take a bit longer to arrive than at some other restaurants on the street, but in my opinion, that is a small price to pay for the delicious and authentic flavors of the dishes. I think that some of the previous reviews of this restaurant have been a bit harsh, as I believe that good Indian food should not be rushed. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying meal. If you are in a rush for food, wait to visit here until you have time to enjoy talking with the person you are dining with.
