We had take out from here. We ordered one lunch special with buttered chicken. The staff told us the lunch special was a smaller portion, but it was more than enough for 1 meals. I also had the tandoori chicken special. Both were delicious and generous in portion. We definitely will be visiting this place again. The staff was very helpful and patient.

Horrible. I made an order for lamb chops with rice and chickpeas and rice. They gave me chicken and grave and a bowl of chickpeas and had the audacity to charge me $55 for something worth $20. They just wanted to give me something so I can leave so they can close. Horrible service.

so thankful this place is still here, love love love this food! the nan is out of this world! so fluffy, warm, and not overly buttered! the rice is so spot on and is perfect with every dish I have ever ordered. The flavors are so specific to this restaurant. I’ve had plenty of Indian food and I now there is a difference between having a craving for Indian and having a craving for Clay Oven and now its always the craving for just Clay Oven. the staff and owners are incredibly sweet people, never had anything bad come out of the kitchen!!

We came in about 30 min before they closed, on a Monday. We received a warm greeting and the owner was happy to educate us on the menu. Service was fantastic. But the FOOD!! I don’t even have enough words. So much flavor and freshness. Portions were more than generous, too. Pricing was also very fair. After ordering 3 entrees, 2 sides and 2 apps, my husband and I were happily surprised to find we over estimated the check. We will absolutely be back to Clay oven, often, and with the rest of our family.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Our group of three ordered the veggie samosas, veggie pakora, garlic naan, chicken biryani, a tandoori dish, and a potato curry. Every single dish was delicious! The inside of the restaurant is very clean, there are plenty of drink options including alcoholic beverages, and the server was so friendly! He regularly checked in on us to ensure we were enjoying our meal and to see if we needed anything else. We have ordered from here via delivery in the past, but now that we’ve dined there in person, we are looking forward to dining in more often.

This is the second time this restaurant has screwed up my Uber Eats order. First time, they didn’t even have the order made at all and I had to cancel. This time, it was 20 minutes late and missing a mango lassi drink (the driver had to wait as they made the dinner). Sorry Clay Oven, your food is great but your service sucks.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to, everything I order is absolutely amazing. The food never disappoints me and I could eat thier naan all day. The portions are big and meant for two people. It’s the best Indian restaurant in Frederick and probably in Maryland. The service is alittle slow, they get busy and it takes some time to get your check after you’re finished, but overall still my favorite go to Indian restaurant, I 100% recommend and hope to come here more often.
