We went to Chubbys tacos for my daughter’s birthday. We got in and found the line, it’s to the left when you walk in. We walked past the really cool murals on the wall one that read “Cubby’s Tacos” with a taco and a dog on top of a bull with a rainbow behind it. The artist put a lot of time into these. We got to the register and I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos (non spicy) with a side of rice and refried beans. It was so good. They reminded me of street tacos like I used to get when I lived in NYC. They were so good, they were fresh and delicious I highly recommend. My daughter got the same without the side. My boyfriend got the “Chubby” Changa with Tinga chicken. It was delicious. It has a lot of cream. My daughter and I got Jarrito sodas which aren’t easy to find. They even had Mandarin, not many places carry this flavor. We also got chips and salsa which were complimentary. They had a whole salsa bar to choose from. I really liked these tacos and we will definitely be back.

The best tacos I’ve had at any restaurant in Durham. Love the fact that they have a salsa bar that compliment the chips well. Their torta is life-changing I would recommend it with the spicy tinga chicken. They have different options for dessert but the plantains are the MVP of the dessert team.

Baja Fish Tacos are my favorite. The salsa bar is a total hit! On Tuesdays they have $2 beers on draft they have outdoor seating as well. I always enjoy the reggaeton music playing as well.

The food at this place is not the best. Tacos are not really well put together, the chicken tacos is not really tasty, it has tone of oignons with low quality chicken. Beef tacos is basically the same. The drinks are good there with friendly service.

So I got two al pastor tacos, and they were slightly better than average, but at FIVE DOLLARS for ONE TACO, I really was expecting the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life, that was not the case… at that price you can get at least two instead of one at any other place. I don’t know how they’re able to claim “best tacos in RDU”, but I highly doubt it. I’m not saying the food was bad or anything, but definitely not worth what I paid for it. I get overhead costs and what nor, but it’s still a little ridiculous. Also, they only had like one or two salt shakers in the whole place??

Not only is it the best tacos in Durham the customer service is amazing. I personally messed up my order and Kimberly corrected 123 no issues. Helped me avoid a melt dwn from my picky eater. They truly value their customers. Also another family came in while I was waiting and the child wanted a certain table number holder and she jumped right in and got it for him so that he wasn’t upset. Again I repeat amazing customer service and food.

The tacos are very plain & just bad. Al pastor tastes like a weird sloppy Joe, the grilled chicken tastes/looks like boiled chicken. I added grilled peppers & onions & got 1 half inch long pepper on each taco. The chips and the sauces are good though. I’ve given them a chance three times and after this experience I wknt be returning. There’s way better taco places in town that are way cheaper.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. I ordered 2 vegan tofu tacos (trying to eat better) they gave me chips and my drink was a water. Grabbed my number took my chips and water, grabbed some salsa from the salsa bar, sat down and one bite from the chips I was hooked. Warm chips, toasted, seasoning on them and wow. Then my tofu tacos were dropped off. Wow, these were great, tasted great, and I almost ordered some more but had to go. This is a great place for some super tacos.
