This is HIROSHIMA STYLE OKONOMIYAKI CHINCHIKURIN.Hands down, this is the most popular comfort food of Hiroshima. Each layer of the okonomiyaki is perfectly grilled and carefully assembled on a searing teppan griddle. And when your nose is engulfed in the hypnotizing aroma of the Otafuku sauce as it drizzles over the edges and sizzles on the grill, it’s easy to understand why this beloved dish has nourished generations of families in Hiroshima for decades!

Second location of cult-favorite Japanese okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) shop from Hiroshima.

This place wasn’t bad overall. I think it’s a nice environment and it’s clearly very popular for the unique dishes but overall I felt a bit over hyped. There’s always a wait to get a table and the food was above average. Not too expensive at least which is nice. Presentation of food was good but there wasn’t any ac in the restaurant so it was quite hot on a hot day

Chinchikurin had delicious food! The atmosphere was relaxing and felt authentic. I got the vegan noodles but added an egg to mine. My friend got their signature crispy noodles with beef. Both were tasty! Delicious place and I highly recommend

Takoyaki was good. It’s not the type that’s crispy on the outside. Okonomiyaki was huge, so depending on how hungry you are, you could share this between 3 people. I think it would’ve been too big for 1 person, 2 people for a meal would’ve been good. Service was very slow.

I was in town for a short visit and decided to go to Little Tokyo for the night! I had never been in the small outdoorsy market that replicates the look of an older Japanese town with the tile roofs and wooden panels. I was excited to see that they offer okonomiyaki at a certain restaurant, so I queued up. The wait was a bit long but in my opinion worth it, as okonomiyaki places are far and few in between (vs making it yourself). Once seated, we ordered one okonomiyaki to share (with a fried egg), some takoyaki (as they were serving outside in a grill for people to watch, much like Japanese stalls do!), and shaved ice for dessert. The wait was considerable but when the food arrived it was hardly noticeable. If you come here without being in a rush its a nice experience, but it is busy due to its location and small interior. I loved the okonomiyaki (I recommend buying each person one as one serving goes fast between two people haha) and the takoyaki was fried, tasty, and hot. The shaved ice was absolutely sublime, with sweet strawberries and syrup, the ice melting perfectly. A great experience to share with my partner and I! Reminded me of Japan a lot.

Okay dining option in the Japanese village plaza. You can go up to the kiosk to check in/add yourself to the wait list or place an order. Took about 25 minutes for a table of 4 during a weekend afternoon. Seems busy and always has a wait. Has indoor and outdoor dining but no AC. The takoyaki was soggy and their signature chinchikurinyaki was good but barely had any meat. It was just lots of cheap ingredients piled together with sauce slapped on top. Food took a while to come out. Staff was nice but inattentive, never came back to fill our waters and I had to go inside to get the check. Prices were standard, just glad we didn’t pay more for what we got. Might try something else if I wind up here again but overall wasn’t impressed.

Came at 11:30am Wednesday, when they opened, and a couple of people were waiting at the door. Since we were a party of 5, we were seated in the back on bench seats. By 12:30 pm, all the inside seats were occupied. Loved the loaded kaisen okonomiyaki, which came with chopped green onions, grilled calamari, and shrimp. Extra sauce and Mayo packets on the table. And the strawberry shaved ice was yummy and huge, comfortably shared by 4 of us, with just the right amount of sweetness, not overly. Nice that they gave us separate bowls and spoons to share without asking. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. They validate for the JVP parking, so only paid $3 parking for eating plus short walking period.

Firstly, okonomiyaki places are not everywhere and then there is Hiroshima Okonomiyaki. The lead chef of this location is a good teacher, he not only shows the other cooks how it is done but also explains the reasons why. His involvement ensures food quality and taste of every dish.

Best okonomyaki I’ve had, probably because it’s Hiroshima style and has noodles in it too. The peach soda was tasty too!

What a terrific experience I had dining at this place. I can’t say that this was my first experience trying Japanese food, but this place for sure got my feet wet in the Japanese cuisine.
