Carne Lenta We are the proud family behind Taco Flats in Austin, thank you for having us in Smithville. Carne Lenta means slow meat in Spanish. We buy our cows locally, process the meat in house, and do a Mexican style slow roast in large pits. The tortillas are homemade and everything is made from scratch. Enjoy your tacos !!

Was in the area for a trail race and stopped here afterwards. Turned out to be delicious food. Had the picadillo nachos (cousin shared with me) and the carnitas taco on a corn tortilla. Don’t miss it if you’re ever in Smithville.

Hands down some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The homemade chips are spiced perfectly and went great with the queso and salsa. The service was friendly and fast, and a great place to visit after riding the trails!

Great shady patio distracts from the LaCroix of Mexican food. I was so hopeful when I was able to order in Spanish, but what came out was definitely a Smithville version of tacos. I think this place is sort of new and maybe getting the kitchen locked down, so I would try them again if someone tricks me into thrifting in Smithville again.
