Carmen’s Famous Cheesesteaks located in the Reading Terminal next to Bassetts Ice Cream is the very, very best of the best Cheesesteak place I have ever eaten at!! Been here many times – always spot on amazing. Tons of meat, and the highest quality too. I recommend the Pizza Steak – out of this World!!!! Great staff too!!!!

Yeah it’s touristy and you’ve got to wait for 20-30 minutes to get your sandwich, it was in my opinion a very solid cheesesteak. I’m sure there are better out there but this was a decent baseline. I got mine with American and roast peppers and it was very flavorful and served on a nice soft bun. I’d come back.

The cashier was a very friendly guy. As for the cheesesteak, it was enjoyable overall. I got with onions and sharp provolone. The bread in particular was great.

Steak was great and I was excited to find that they had Cooper Sharp American as a cheese option. First time I’ve had it without provolone and it was phenomenal with the sharp American!

Half and full size Philly cheesesteaks (or chicken) with choice of toppings like hot peppers, pickles, mushrooms and onions. Popular lunch spot, customized orders, and playing cards passed out instead of order numbers. My mushroom onion full size with steak was hot, savory, and filling.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. We were charged for cheese when ON THE MENU, there is no notice of it. When I brought it up to the “manager” a 40/50 year old woman, she proceeded to get mad at me and throw a fit, her body language was very aggressive. At that point I don’t care how the food is, the hostile service completely ruined this for me and I WILL NOT be back! The cashier was also very rude and snappy, when I spoke to him, he pointed to the menu saying it was on there, which is a BLATANT lie.

Terrible place. The staff are so rude. I asked for my sandwich to be cut in half for a knife. The long red head staff,(I will not call her a lady) start telling me off as I walked away. What a terrible person to represent the City of Brotherly love. The steak sandwich was the worst I ever eaten through half it out. Frozen fake deli meat passed off for steak.

First time trying their cheese steaks and it was delicious! Line at 1030 AM on a Sunday was short! We came Friday & line was so long that we didn’t want to wait especially w/ kids.

Delicious food and good value. $20 for a half sandwich and fries. The fries were fresh and everything tasted good. Greasy and delicious. I got a half sandwich with provolone, onions, mushrooms, lettuce and pickles on the side.
