At our Horn Lake, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I eat here because it is close and fish is the only meat I eat. I came here often because the manager was kind the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good for a fast food joint. I now have been here a couple times since the manager I knew and loved is no longer there and have not had the best quality food or wait time. I used to overlook the occasional issue, but not it seems to be a recurring theme. This time I waited 25 minutes and they were not slammed o got food that some of which had clearly sat and lost its appeal for sure! I once came here often and now I will think twice before spending my money and time on what seems to be not what it should be. I almost gave it 2 stars….

I went to Captain D’s in Horn Lake, now usually they are pretty good However this time it was the kids meal that were totally not the norm. When I asked the manager about the sizes of the chickens he said that this is the normal size so I said ok left there and went to another one in Olive Branch and compared… you can see for yourself that CLEARLY SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE HORN LAKE CHICKEN TENDERS… I just truly felt like it could have been replaced not telling me that’s how they come… the hush puppies were not cooked well and my white fish was undercooked also.

I got the two piece fish and fries for $5.99. I’m not sure what it was, but it damn show wasn’t fish. I’ve been eating this Captain D’s for a few years and I never really had a bad experience. But today on November 11, 2025, that was not real fish. Fish shouldn’t have the same texture as chicken.

Terrible, I just want my money back. The shrimp was old, the hush puppies raw in the middle and the cheese sticks were rancid. They were not busy at all and I had to pull off to go inside to get sauces. The cocktail sauce that came out of the fridge was warm, unacceptable.i have called several times and no answer. Corporate is next, Someone is going to end up with food poisoning.

This was my second visit to this store and the second time they didn’t get my order correct. I paid $16.00 for this order only to get home to find out half of the food wasn’t in there. I drove the 17 miles back to this store for them to fix the problem and in the way I decided I didn’t want their food. Whoever the young man was that refunded me my money was extremely nice and we didn’t have any problems. I doubt that I’ll ever go back because of this situation

On today my wife and I visited this store to grab us a nice quick dinner only to experience a bad bad communication with the cashier. I ordered a fish sandwich combo, my wife ordered chicken strip combo our fries looked as if they were left over from yesterday and close to burnt so I referenced to cashier and request fresh fries she then took my fries, put some warm fries on top of the ones I complained about and returned them to me. I complained once more she started lip wrestling ( being confrontational) So I took my sandwich and my wife’s food and left the store before someone get in some trouble. I also left her the fries on the table.

I went through the drive up at the horn lake location. Order# 178 @ 16:31. The food I got was cold! Not warm, but cold. The fried okra was cold, the fish and shrimp cold. Hush puppies were cold. The only thing warm was the corn on the cob. And it was so over cooked it was mush. It should have been thrown in the trash. I can’t believe this is being served at the drive up!

Ordered my food, didn’t get the okra and had to ask for it, got chicken strip and fish, these are the Luke warm strip I got for $15.. absolutely miss the Stateline location. Never got attitude or garbage.
