At our Horn Lake, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I eat here because it is close and fish is the only meat I eat. I came here often because the manager was kind the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good for a fast food joint. I now have been here a couple times since the manager I knew and loved is no longer there and have not had the best quality food or wait time. I used to overlook the occasional issue, but not it seems to be a recurring theme. This time I waited 25 minutes and they were not slammed o got food that some of which had clearly sat and lost its appeal for sure! I once came here often and now I will think twice before spending my money and time on what seems to be not what it should be. I almost gave it 2 stars….

Can no one say “I apologize” any more? I placed a mobile order and drove up to the speaker. I was promptly told that I would have to come inside the restaurant to get my order, as their screen was broken. I go inside, and watch as three walk customers place and receive their orders, pick up their orders and leave. My placing of a much earlier app order was completely pointless. No problem. Equipment breaks. Things happen. What got me is…out of the three people I interacted with at the restaurant, not a single one, manager included apologized one time. Not once. And that is what will keep me from ever returning. How did we get to this place? Oh, and all this wonderment happened after I just gotten done with a 12 hour workday. Never again.

It was about 8:30 and the parking lot was dark there were no outside lights on, it looked like it was closed. I asked the lady at the window why all the lights were off, and she said it was always like that. But the food was not all that, I had the catfish dinner, and the macaroni was watery and tasted funny. The fish was ok. But Captain D’s is kind of expensive, but the food portions are getting smaller. The cashier at the window was nice, tho.

The fish filets were tiny and luke warm , the French fries were ice cold and old, I did request and receive fresh fries after asking a second time the portion was questionable. The shrimp were overcooked on one side and just right on the other. The cashier was cordial did ask if I needed sauces. Not a good experience I would not recommend this restaurant, at this location.

This one in Horn Lake Ms has some of the best jalapeno poppers that I’ve ever eaten!!!! Plus the staff is always friendly they get you in and out.. always love coming here!!!!

I’ve eaten here twice and both times the taste old, Cold, like it’s been sitting for awhile. Awful, and for the money we paid is a disappointment, very unsatisfied, it must be a Management problem, staff arguing among them and service at ordering very rude. Like to call corporate offices and complain
