At our Bessemer, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This a fast food for fish . The fish is mostly frozen and it’s not fresh caught. The fish was okay but the corn was terrible. If you’re not going to serve fresh cooked corn then just take off the menu. It was absolutely terrible.

Ate at this location last night (came through the drive through). Service was fast, food was delicious. What I wanted to talk about was the lady in the drive through. Her name was Shay and let me tell you-her customer service skills were on point. She was SO polite and kind from the time she took our order from the time she handed us our order-nothing but kindness. In a time where I feel like the fast food business is struggling it was so refreshing to have someone as nice as her to take care of us. Great Job Captain D’s!!!

Disgusting so they basically just dropped my fries and fish back in the grease to make it hot the fish was hard and dried out the hush puppies were hard also you would think the food was going to be fresh after waiting in the drive thru forever I will never come back to this location this is my 3rd time and every visit has been disappointing..

Originally started off in drive thru but it was very busy so I parked and went inside. The cashier was really friendly and knowledgeable about the food. When it came time to get my food she opened the plastic containers for me to make sure that my food was made correctly. I don’t remember her but she deserves credit for her role that she performed to perfection.

This restaurant has the slowest drive thru in history. Waited 20 minutes in drive thru line then had to leave before ordering so I wouldn’t be late for work. This was Sunday afternoon and I was one of 4 cars in the line. I don’t know what takes so long. The food is always good, but the drive they service needs speeding up.

Been waiting on my food for 45 minutes….will not return to this location. Employees are rude, They cant remember anything for more than 2 minutes. I only gave 1 star because no option for ZERO stars. I ordered online pickup. Great said that since I ordered online through postmates, she couldn’t start preparing my food until I arrived to pick it up. This makes no sense whatsoever, I paid online, whether I picked up food or not. She was rude. I waited over 30 minutes inside restaurant after I had driven 20 minutes to pick food up. There is not a valid reason I had to wait on my food. I would recommend not bothering to order from this location.

For the price very tasty. Fish nuggets were seasoned well. String beans perfect and tasted fresh. Cole slaw was cold and pretty good. Will recommend. The staff was pleasant and funny.They made sure we had plenty of condiments. One small issue. The Tea was over brewed and the lemon messing.
