Reviews
Upon reading review reviews about the place, I noticed that I was not allowed to bring my dog. At first, I was upset about this because I have a service dog and he goes everywhere with me, but upon further investigation, I found out that there was an incident and that’s why you can’t bring dogs to the establishment, which is always understandable so I took a chance and I went anyway.
I am happy I did because the food was amazing. The people were amazing. The staff was amazing. I ended up meeting the owner and gave him a recommendation and he took with open arms, that was great. They also recommended that I show up to piano night which I plan to. It sounds like it’s gonna be really fun. They’re supposed to be competing with pianos.
Anyway, Everyone was so welcoming and I felt right at home. I was so comfortable I forgot that I wasn’t able to even bring my dog into the establishment. For an appetizer, I ordered two things. One was the chef’s recommendation, and the other was a meat and cheese and fruit tray.
Usually when I find a meat, cheese and fruit tray there are at least one or two bad grapes on there not here. They have four different versions of crackers they were shaped in all types of cute designs. Each of the crackers were very fresh and very good. All of the fruit was really really fresh and the cheese was cut into cute little cubes and there were three different varieties. It was a really nice tray.
The chef recommended these little chicken bites and honestly they’re really hard to describe. It looks like it was sweet-and-sour chicken without the sweet-and-sour sauce, but it did not taste like it. It was really really really really really really good.
I’m happy I went with that recommendation. I also ordered a drink that was mixed with this red and blue frozen stuff because it was really hot outside, but I shouldn’t of ordered it because it was really good and I drunk the whole thing and before I realized it, I was drunk. After I ate my appetizers, The food came and Man did it look good. But I was too drunk to eat. So my waiter boxed it all up and had them put it in a nice brown bag for me.
I found out that he was on his third shift at the bar, and it was very surprising because he was really informative and knew everything that he was talking about. He was able to assist us and everything that we asked and also told us a little bit of history about the establishment and the wine.
The craziest thing happened right before we left. We found out that they were hosting a whole event there and there was a wedding party upstairs doing either rehearsal or something else.
This was very surprising because we received the best service ever, and we felt like everyone was focused on us. I had waitresses who were not serving me stop and give me food recommendations because everything was so great.
This place is very family oriented and you can also grab a good drink and get a good wine tasting here. It did not break the bank either. I ordered two wine tastings, two apps, three entrees, and more and it was under 200. I was able to have a nice little walk and enjoy the scenery in order to get my buzz down.
It was really really great thank you for an amazing time and a great birthday experience.
I will be returning.
The restaurant itself has a charming vibe, although it does look a bit old, which adds a certain character to the place. Despite its aged appearance, it felt cozy and welcoming. There’s plenty of space for parking, which is convenient and saves the hassle of searching for a spot.
The service, however, was just okay. The staff were polite but could be a bit more attentive to improve the overall dining experience. Nonetheless, the atmosphere and the quality of the food make up for it.
One highlight worth mentioning is their Sunday brunch buffet. It’s definitely worth checking out, though it can be a bit spendy. The variety and quality of the brunch offerings make it a special treat.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely go back to try more of their menu offerings!
They also charged us a 20% tip for the waitress.
Also miss the special Valentine’s touches like a rose and chocolate covered strawberries.
Menu has a good variety and everything I tried was extremely tasty.
Several Missouri wines and also a wine sampler if you’re not sure what you like yet.
