Candyland Cottage & Ice Cream is an absolute delight to visit and walk around. There were so many candies from the 70s, 80s, and so on. I found the bubble gum cigarettes with the white chalky dust!!! what a blast from the past.

Stopped by this neat shop during our road trip. My teenage daughter was absolutely giddy over all the different variety of candy and sweets they had at this place. This would be a cool place to visit at Christmas time as they had lots of Christmas decorations. I loved the retro stools and decors as well. My only disappointment was when I ordered a banana split and it came in a small container and did not look anything like the standard banana split ice-cream. It looked sloppy and unappetizing. The young clerk was not friendly and did not smile at all when we greeted her. Maybe she was just having a bad day. We would probably come back again during the holidays just to see if the atmosphere would be a lot brighter and to purchase more of their truffles and nostalgic candies!

To be as cliche as possible, I did feel like a kid in a candy shop here! Such a wide variety of candy and treats. They have fudge, ice cream, shakes, floats, and more. There were some candy pieces I had not seen in such a long time. Felt really nostalgic for me.

The Super Walmart of Candy stores! But with charm and style. So many cool antique things to look at. Way better than going to a modern frozen yogurt place on a weekend. Lots of vintage Christmas decor and even an old type writer! The owner is so nice and passionate about his costumers he even has a guest book. We stopped to get ice cream on a road trip and ended up buying a bunch of candy as well that you can’t find easily anywhere. They had kid carts for Little’s and my kids loved them. Candy land is the right name for this store! Should be a destination place on everyone’s map crossing through Louisiana!
