Cannot believe I haven’t reviewed this place until now! This is a wonderful Cafe right in the heart of downtown Redwood City. It’s a great place to go for lunch. Their sandwiches are delicious, but what I really love are the salads. The mango chicken salad is absolutely amazing! Plus I love that there’s self-service free water, and outside seating so you can enjoy the nice weather.

Cafe La Tartine… a quintessential livery of all that is Fondament in a cafe. Checks all the boxes that I would consider a must for a cafe. Light an airy, check, open patio seating, check, pastries and easspresso drinks? Check. Located conveniently off Broadway in Redwood City. The cafe itself could do with a little more flourish and finish, however I’ve always felt a cafe shouldn’t be overly exclusive. The mocha was 10/10, the food was subtle and succulent. Enjoy a pastry as a midday brunch on the patio when it’s sunny.

We went here for a cup of coffee and a yummy piece of cake. The iced latte I had was strong and delicious. I also ordered a piece of red velvet and a big chocolate chip cookie. They were both so good!

Average coffee shop. It looked very promising because of the French name. French cafes hardly go wrong. However this was an exception. Even Cappuccino didn’t taste good here. I usually look for local coffee shops and not Starbucks all the times but I shouldn’t have. They have tons of pastry options in the cafe. The cafe was empty on a Friday too. I was wondering about how fresh the items are. $4 cappuccino in a tiny cup wasn’t even half full and got over in like 3 sips. Overall it was a disappointing trip.

Delicious desserts with a nice open air atmosphere. The server put a slice of bread pudding on my plate and touched it with both of his bare hands. After politely asking him to serve a slice without touching it, he apologized and did so.

We moved to the area recently and are on the hunt for a good local bakery. Cafe La Tartine was disappointing. We went Saturday morning and the display case was 1/3 full and the selection was lacking. We ended up buying a lemon cranberry scone, a peanut butter cookie and a raspberry almond cookie. The scone was dry and did not use fresh cranberries. I thought it may have been bought from a wholesaler or was a day old. Will not come back.
