The pastries here are soft warm and absolutely delicious. There are treats with custard fillings flaky breads stuffed with cheese and even festive items that feel like edible holiday decorations. It is the type of place where you tell yourself you are just browsing and next thing you know you are carrying a tray of pastries you did not even know existed five minutes ago
Prices run higher than your usual grab and go bakery but each bite reminds you why. The ingredients taste quality the textures are perfect and everything feels like it was made with extra care. You are paying for the kind of treat that actually makes you smile while you eat it
If you find yourself in the mall and in the mood to lift your spirits follow the smell of fresh bread and treat yourself at Hokkaido The Brug. A little splurge here is always worth it.

Aloha! Today my mom picked up a Kalibi Roll for me, savory pieces of marinated Kalbi with a bit of onion on a soft roll. So delicious! Got my usual curry bun as well. Highly recommend checking out their new item which is now my favorite next to the cream cheese bomb

BBQ Pork Piggy Bun has filling of soft, thin, bite size slices of pork in a sweet n savory sauce. Very satisfying
4/25/2021 – My pal brought over some sweet pastries since she knows I love Brug. It was my first time trying the sweet pastries. She brought Koshi Anpan, Mochi Donut, Okinawan Potato Mochi, and some sort of cinnamon roll (I couldn’t find the name on their menu). All delicious! My faves were the Koshi Anpan that were soft & stuffed with red bean paste and the mochi items, which were so chewy and good.
12/1/2021 Walked in for my fave, Kitaguni but booo, they were out of it. So instead I got a pastrami and cheese focaccia, tomato pesto and mozzarella focaccia, a spinach and ham roll, & a teriyaki chicken roll. I gave the two focaccias to my husband who loved them and he’s not a bread person. The spinach and ham roll and the teriyaki chicken roll were all mine! They were both so delicious! I like that the teriyaki chicken roll included creamy mayonnaise & nori. Yum!
When I have more time, I will come back and try the other tasty looking pastries.
Update: they don’t have the cheesecake anymore. But they have other exclusive items, including a cheeseburger.
