Hokkaido The Brug is the kind of bakery that makes you stop in your tracks the moment you walk by. The cases are filled with holiday pastries and goodies that look like they were designed by someone who really loves butter sugar and Christmas cheer. Every shelf has something tempting whether you want sweet or savory or both because choosing only one is impossible

The pastries here are soft warm and absolutely delicious. There are treats with custard fillings flaky breads stuffed with cheese and even festive items that feel like edible holiday decorations. It is the type of place where you tell yourself you are just browsing and next thing you know you are carrying a tray of pastries you did not even know existed five minutes ago

Prices run higher than your usual grab and go bakery but each bite reminds you why. The ingredients taste quality the textures are perfect and everything feels like it was made with extra care. You are paying for the kind of treat that actually makes you smile while you eat it

If you find yourself in the mall and in the mood to lift your spirits follow the smell of fresh bread and treat yourself at Hokkaido The Brug. A little splurge here is always worth it.

This place is my go-to whenever I go there in the morning. It is one of the few places that are open before Pearlridge Uptown is open. My favorite items are the mochi donuts, the honey latte, and their Danish rolls. They have quarterly/holiday specials which are sometimes cute.

I ❤️ their Koshi Anpan, Thanks to my mom for getting me hooked. If you haven’t tried it, It’s a ” MUST TRY ” it taste just like eating a Black Sugar Manapua. Soo good!! The dough is super soft & the filling is spread evenly, Each bite you get to Smile!!. I ❤️ how I can put it in the refrigerator and in the middle of the night when I get the munchies it’s still soft and oh soo yummy . Price was $3.00 I think or less I forgot, it was worth it!!. My Kids wanted to try The black seed Mochi Doughnuts it was 2 for $5.00 they said it was soo good My tasting it was Delish!! Chewy & made fresh you can tell. I’m super excited to try other things they sell & share my review. I ❤️ the individual wrapping easy to go packaged & enjoy. The store is well organized, clean, and the Employees are very friendly 10/10

Nice little bakery, always filled with lots of different kinds of treats. There’s both savory and sweet pastries, as well as breads and different types of specialty items. It’s pretty much a grab and go place not really want to go and sit down and eat. Staff is very friendly and helpful here.

Miss the Matcha Turtles here but other pastries are still really yummy. This location is small but clean. Freshly Baked can’t be beat. Highly recommend the long time favorite cream cheese bomb, the very quick selling Brug curry, top selling Kuma chocolate custard pan, sausage roll, chocolate sprinkles and melon pan. I also include a seasonal item in the pic.

Aloha! Today my mom picked up a Kalibi Roll for me, savory pieces of marinated Kalbi with a bit of onion on a soft roll. So delicious! Got my usual curry bun as well. Highly recommend checking out their new item which is now my favorite next to the cream cheese bomb

I’m not a bread person but these Brug rolls are my utter favorites. I can’t resist them! Since customers are physically distancing, it does take awhile to get through the line, especially if you don’t know exactly what you’d like. Each item is packaged in it’s own little plastic envelope. They have sanitizer to use when you first walk in. Grab a tongs, paper tray liner, and plastic tray and start choosing your items. The workers there are helpful & the girl who rang me up today was really friendly. They have both savory and sweet items. I only eat the savory and Kitaguni Focaccia is my #1 favorite!

4/25/2021 – My pal brought over some sweet pastries since she knows I love Brug. It was my first time trying the sweet pastries. She brought Koshi Anpan, Mochi Donut, Okinawan Potato Mochi, and some sort of cinnamon roll (I couldn’t find the name on their menu). All delicious! My faves were the Koshi Anpan that were soft & stuffed with red bean paste and the mochi items, which were so chewy and good.

12/1/2021 Walked in for my fave, Kitaguni but booo, they were out of it. So instead I got a pastrami and cheese focaccia, tomato pesto and mozzarella focaccia, a spinach and ham roll, & a teriyaki chicken roll. I gave the two focaccias to my husband who loved them and he’s not a bread person. The spinach and ham roll and the teriyaki chicken roll were all mine! They were both so delicious! I like that the teriyaki chicken roll included creamy mayonnaise & nori. Yum!

I only got a half order of the mochi waffle. My wife loved it!

When I have more time, I will come back and try the other tasty looking pastries.

Just as great as the other Brug locations on island. Great quality breads and baked treats. This location also sometimes has chocolate-dipped cheesecakes, which are super good.

Update: they don’t have the cheesecake anymore. But they have other exclusive items, including a cheeseburger.
