If you find yourself eating at the Brookville Hotel you are faced with the choice between chicken or beef as a meal. What I didn’t know before showing up was that the restaurant made a name for itself by the fried chicken they served; the most popular period being during World War II when soldiers were crossing the nation one direction or another. I chose beef but perhaps chicken would have been the better option.

We just happened to find this place as we were traveling though. What a find! The chicken and sides are served family style. Great food and service. I’m not a cole slaw person, but their homemade slaw was great!

I’ve eaten at one version of the Brookeville Hotel or another for as long as I can remember. This last time was good but the food wasn’t as good as I’ve came to know, particularly the chicken. But still, it was WELL worth the price. The sides are really well done, and maybe it was just not a perfect day for the cook. This is a wonderful place.

We feasted like Kings today. The recipes used were from the original recipes of the 1870 Brookville Hotel – except for the beef and the ice cream. The beef and ice cream are from Munson Angus Farms. Veronica, our server, was knowledgeable, kind, and has exceptional waitstaff skills.

Our parents used to take us to eat at the hotel in the 59’s when it was actually located in the town of Brookville. I was passing on my way to Colorado and just happened to see vehicles parked around the hotel so I thought I would give it a try.

We had an amazing family dinner at Brookville Hotel this past Saturday! The food was so good! HUGE portions and you now have a choice of beef or chicken. The homemade ice cream is to die for! The service was great also- she was super attentive and friendly. We can’t wait to be back again!

Only draw back was that I was seated facing the outside window, a LOT of glare, was hard to speak with dinner partner. Suggestion to establishment, when once seated please explain what the meal entails & just a short mention about what is expected of the customer. Having never visited this historic & wonderful establishment we were left to figure out things for ourselves. We will diffently dine at the Brookville when chance arises again, thank you.

Very tasty, I liked the atmosphere. The chicken is better than the steak. Heads up it’s a Hamburg style steak. It is better and easier on the staff to make a reservation.

Come for the chicken, stay for the beef! Seriously, the dining experience from start to finish is phenomenal. One price fits all (yes, even drinks!) – your meal starts with cold sides including a delicious slaw in cream and melt-in-your-mouth cottage cheese. Second course includes sides with homemade mashed potatoes and the creamiest corn. Did I mention the biscuits?? The chicken is incredibly crispy but the star of my show was the beef. OMG. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, coated with the most delicious onions, and the sauce?? You HAVE to try the beef. Save room for dessert

We made a 6pm reservation online for a Sunday only to find out that they don’t check the online submissions. In fact, while the website appears to take reservations until 7pm on Sundays, we found out they are only open until 6:30. They took us at 6 but what would have happened if we had made a reservation for 6:30? They sat us right next to the door. Then, at shortly after 7 they asked us to finish up and leave because the staff had been there all day. They said we could sit outside on the benches if we wanted to continue to visit. The food was ok. The beef came out quite a bit later than the chicken was served. That didn’t leave much time to eat.
